Just ignore the 35days cliche and keep calling; its one thing for the package to be shipped and its another thing for the information to be logged into the NVC database (my thoughts though).

Do you think its wise to get the police certificate now or wait till when the case number is generated?

I just got a text notification on our cases. When I logged in to the UISCIS page, it now says as of 02/11 our cases were shipped to the NVC!

I'm wondering if this means the NVC says wait 35 days from NOA2 date or from 'shipped' date?!?! (NOA2 date was 01/23)

ETA: Also wondering if there is a way to track the shipment from Texas to NH?! I've seen the 'trick' to checking DHL for NVC to Consulate.... hmmmm....

If your PC doesn't expire in 3 months then u can get it but u have to take into account the time it will take to get case number and generate the invoices :)

Can you correct me on this? I heard that despite the fact that PC's expire in 3 months, they are valid for 1yr by NVC and the consulate

For police clearances, it depends on the issuing country..... I got my Police Clearance (just came in last week :) ) and there is no expiry date on it. For Canada, I have not seen a definite answer of them being valid for 6 months or 12 months, but took the gamble that I'd have my interview within 6 months of the date on the certificate. Worst case scenario NVC or Montreal will ask for an updated one for the interview....

NOA2 notification of I-130 approval received this morning :) :) :)

The VJ timeline facility was spot-on (I know it fluctuated a bit but it was always indicating this week and early this morning was the first time it gave an approval date estimation that was in the past)

I know the wait is frustrating, regardless of whether that's one month or six, but hang on in there fellow August filers

Good luck all

It ultimately depends on what the RFE is for..... but from looking at others' timelines, not terribly long (2-3 weeks or so.....)

Ok guys. I have been rather quiet for a while just hoping, praying and waiting. Close to seven months and nothing has changed for me. Not an RFE (not that I want one), not a signal that things are moving forward. My husband sent a service request to see if we get any info - we will not by March 5 and not before.

The only highlight is that my husband came to stay with me for a week.

<<<< rant start >>>>>>

We are definitely looking into me visiting for a while now... I only need to take care of my financial situation and then I will make a decision on whether I keep my job or move on. It is terrible to be apart for so long and only because we are "doing things right". It has come to a point where I am actually upset at hearing in other forums things like "I have been in the country illegally for X years.. and then managed to adjust with no problems"... This is really driving me crazy.

When I can finally and legally be with my husband, I will go to law school become a fat cat (fatter lol) and make some real changes so that people that do things right can reunite with their family without all these ludicrous wait times. It's insane.

<<<<< end of rant >>>>>>>>>>>>

I had a wonderful time with my husband and I am so happy that he had a chance to be here with me!

Sun and Fun!

Best,

UnaMexicana

That sucks, it's not like it's the end of the process once the I-130's approved either.

I sent a service request just a few days before they sent approval and thought it was bad enough that they said 'not yet out of processing time, try again in the future' (or words to that effect) and that was 'only' 5 months and three weeks. Why do they say processing times are '5 months' when it is plainly obvious that, unless you are lucky enough to be expedited, it's just shy of 6 months - on average.

Time for phone calls?

Hope they approve your I-130 soon.
