I just realized that the Customer Service Number is a big scam. Those tier 2 are just people sitting in the next room to give the illusion of giving an answer. They just fill out the form online as we can do it ourselves. Best approach is to contact your Congressman and Senator by the 5 month mark. Still waiting :crying:

Ok. It's been six months today and no news.

>>>>> rant start ...

My husband has called three times and has been brushed off in all thore three attempts to get any hope or information. We are dealing with robots that want to accountability for being quoted saying anything that might help our case.

He is calling again today. In queue as I write this post. I am so frustrated and angry, I have had trouble sleeping. I don't know where would I be if I didn't have a job, I would be losing my mind.

I travel to DFW this week-end but this time I can't join him in SF. We are considering him moving out of his brother's place so that we can have a place I can come to.

>>>> end of rant

Do you think it will hurt our process if I come in as a B2 - lets say, in a couple of months - and stay for the length of the i94 permit? (usually 6 mos). The way I am seeing things, we are in for a LOOOOOONG wait until I have to be back in Mexico and interview.

Thanks!

I already send them the letters for them to start the inquiry. The system will be more helpful if it will give a better update like: Reviewing Divorce Decree, Reviewing immigration record for beneficiary, etc.... It lacks a proper update to the information.

Do you mind sharing an exaple of the letter you sent? After the call yesterday I am sooooo frustrated and just want to do something in hopes it helps our case.

Thanks,

oh no :( I'm really sorry to hear that :(

Have you tried calling the USCIS to see what the RFE was for? I think I recall from looking at other's timelines an RFE is usually handled pretty quickly so it won't add a lot of time....

Best wishes!!

ya i called them same days and they say they can't explained to me its was explaine on notice so i have to wait and i told her i moved and she said nothing she can do until deadline if i don't recieved it i will get copy after that so i changed usps address so i could get it new address

thank you for your wishes

Maybe try calling again..... it works for calling NVC.... if you get one rep who won't do anything except quote timelines at you, call back until you get one who will actually look into the file.... (I spoke to NVC twice yesterday to see if our files had been rec'd yet... first said no wait 35 days, the second actually looked at the case numbers to give me the info)

That seriously bites that they would give you that run around!

Good luck!

No idea about the B2 idea (sorry)

But just wanted to send speedy processing vibes to you & hubby!! I was wondering how your case was going but didn't get a chance to post to you yesterday :( From what I have seen from others, those who've contacted Senators & Congressmen signed off on a Privacy consent from whichever Rep's office then left it to them to do the leg work.... not 100% sure on this, just fuzzy recall....

I really hope they send you the NOA2 REALLY soon!! It'd be a great Valentine's Day present ;)

Good luck hon!!

In respect to your B2 tourist visa inquiry, I got back from Texas where I spent 1 month with my hubby. At the port of entry, I was asked several questions regarding my trip and asked to show a proof that I would return back to canada....he specifically asked for employment letter, tenancy agreement, ekectricity bill.....I had none with me. So, I asked the officer if a return ticket will do and he said yes. Overall, just tell the truth about your situation cos they might want to ask tricky questions (he asked if I had in the past showed an immigrant intent.....I answered truthfully ). On a second thought, if you want to stay for 6 months, the officer might probe into your employment status. .cos that kinda like a long time to stay off work. #my thoughts#

Yeah, I think you should keep calling uscis. ...Some reps are really grumpy. Also, I think asking to speak with a tier 2 wouldn't hurt (just so you know, the tier 1 reps are always reluctant to transfer a person to a tier 2.....you just have to be persist and insist that someone with more knowledge on the subject has to speak with you). Sending good vibes your way

Do you mind sharing an exaple of the letter you sent? After the call yesterday I am sooooo frustrated and just want to do something in hopes it helps our case.

Thanks,

UnaMexicana

Just check the websites for the representative and they will have the form to fill up.

Yea. I work homebased and that is why I could afford to do this. It really does not matter where I am as long as I connect and do what I am supposed to do.

My plan was to just say I am visiting my husband - and then stay with him here while I await processing. Then, go back to Mexico and complete the interview and medical, etc. I have entered a couple of times on B1 for quick business meetings in DFW and then make a quick trip to SF to see him. Apart from the questions on where does he live and what I do for a living, everytime I get in just fine, and everytime they give me 6 months.

I am coming to DFW for a week once again in three days, but this time I won't go visit. He will be in Mexico for Valentine's Day and spend a week with me.

We are planning to do this around May, which is around the time when my husband will be able to get a place of our own (he is sharing with his brother at the moment). As we used to live with my mom in Mexico and we are good friends with our tenant, we still have all those documents proving that I have a residence to come back to.

Thanks for your thoughts and comments, they are really appreciated!
