Hi all,

VJ noob here and a fellow August 2014 filer.

NOA1 received really quickly after filing, a received date of 25th August (so today is 5 months :( ) and still no NOA2.

I-130 sent to Nebraska and like some earlier posters in this thread we too had some problems with USCIS not showing our case status on their website, a problem that was resolved shortly after my USC wife called sometime in October.

It would be nice to have the NOA2 before I fly back to the UK at the end of February (I'm a 3 month in, 3 month away type of guy - which has it's pro's and cons), ideally I'd like to see it this month to enable fees paid and start the ball rolling on the next phase before I leave the US but I'm starting to think it may be a while! :(

27/08/2014 - Emailed (NOA1) received
28/08/2014 - Check for I-130 cashed
05/09/2014 - Mailed I-797c Received (NOA1)

09-24-19 Attended Naturalization Oat Ceremony, My wife is now an U.S. Citizen!

09-25-19 I-130 for both her parents sent to Phoenix Lock Box.

10--04-10 NOA1 Received from Texas Service Center, priority date: 09-27-19

04-13-20 NOA2 received from USCIS for her mom. 04-14-20 NVC Welcome email received for her mom.

08/2020 Case completed at NVC, now just waiting for their interviews in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
07/2021 Received appointment to attend interview in Ciudad Juarez.
08/23/2021 First interview to basically drop off all the civil documents as requested, they waited about 3 hours.
08/24/2021 Second interview - This is the real interview with a State Dept Agent.  They waited for about 3 hours again before called in. Interview lasted about 5 minute.  -- approved!
10/09/2021 POE: California - Welcome to the USA.

10/09/2021 Paid for Green Card.

12/12/2021 Still waiting for GC's & SS#

Just called USCIS again and they told me they are working July 16th. Our PD is Aug 6th and he told me that in 30 more business days we will be out of "normal processing time" and we can't do a service request until 30 days from now. So according to them, 7 months is the normal processing time.

February 10th, 2015: Case Status on USCIS website (We sent your case to the Department of State for visa Processing)

Hello Everyone,

I would like to share my case updates.

I called NVC yesterday for the first time and after a 30 min wait I was able to speak to one of the representatives.

To my surprise the agents were very friendly and helpful. She guided me step by step and made sure that I had received an email from NVC with my case number and IIN number.

I have filled my DS-261 yesterday and awaiting for AOS payment to be available online now.

NVC will most likely be closed due to severe weather in the next couple of days. I hope the best for all that are in this step. We are still waiting for our case number as well.

Exact same spiel I have received. My I-130 NOA1 priority date is the 29th of July and it was routed to the Nebraska Service Center.

Honestly, this is ridiculous. There is absolutely no transparency in the process - they're quick to process the application fee $$ but everything else is taking painstakingly long.

When I did this process back in 2009 it was much faster (got to NVC interview stage within 3 months of filing the petition - but had to abandon as there was a change in my circumstances and I had to stay in my home country).
