Not sure how to correctly answer this. If your grandmother had already arrived in the US, then that particular I-864 is in force and the answer would be clear, your mom would have to count your grandmother in her household count. But since that process is still pending, I don't know what the correct answer is.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for taking your time to answer my question. Anyone here can help me with this please?

Thank you and hope we all get approval soon!!!

Coming into the home stretch is rough because we've already been waiting about 4 months, sitting here doing nothing..... but with December being done, January is our month! I've been watching the July I-130 filers thread and there are approvals coming through.... our turn is next!! While the TSC "official" word may be they are working on July 1, there are people after that date getting NOA2's :)

We got this!!

Stage 2 when everything is sent to NVC won't be as long ((really trying to keep positive)) if all your paperwork is correct they're running about 3-4 months, so the wait we're doing right now is the longest......

Merry Yule All :)

whats the "appropriate" waiting time from NOA2 to calling NVC about receipt of our package from USCIS? Its only been a week but i wanna start calling now lol

from what I remember reading in the monthly NVC thread, they won't notify receipt of the package for up to 3 or 4 weeks..... I would think come Jan 2 start calling every 2 or 3 days to confirm receipt..... then it takes about another darn month to get the case number (or whatever they're calling it...) lol

best wishes!!

You have another 4-5 months ahead of you IF you don't receive a checklist for any mistakes or missing documents. We're all in this together!!

From what I have read on Saylin's NVC wiki (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process)%C2'> need to contact them to get your case number:

"Once your I-130 has been approved from USCIS, it will be sent to NVC (a part of the Department of State). Depending what service center the I-130 is coming from, this can take anywhere from a few business days to a few weeks. You may or may not get an email from USCIS/update on their website stating when it was sent.

You won't get correspondence from NVC when they receive your case from USCIS. You need to call an operator at NVC to find this out.

Once NVC does receive your case, it's currently taking around 3 weeks for a case number to be assigned. You can check my spreadsheet for current time frames and if others around your NOA2 date are waiting for their case numbers as well.

If you'd like to stay on top of things, it's best to call about once a week after your NOA2 to see if NVC has received your case. Once they do have your case and about 2-3 weeks have passed since then, increase your calls to about 2-3 times a week (or even more if you wish) until you get a case number assigned."

Congrats!! You're NOA1 was about a week ahead of mine, so I'm crossing my fingers that Santa may yet bring us an NOA2 soon ;)

It's really great seeing some of our August filers starting to get their approvals :) :)
