I am well I miss home desperately though, wishing I could move back to Canada and it's gotten to the point where we're considering it. Not formally, just a "that might happen someday in the near future" kinda thing and I hope it does.

I'm sure it's hard being away from family and old friends and your previous life in general. Pulling up roots isn't always easy.

It isn't, and as my parents get older, it just makes me want to be near them.

That's a tough one. My wife goes through the same feelings at times. You know your parents want what's best for you and to live your own life and be happy, but being far away toys with ones emotions at times. And sometimes people just never truly settle into a new area so that it truly is home to them while others move and change on the fly and never look back. You have to do what's best for yourself and it sounds like your spouse is understanding about it.
