Toursit Visa for Ukrainian girlfriend

A denied B2 won't affect the K1, but be sure if you apply for the B2 not to lie about the intention of the visit (i.e. seeing a fiance). Although if she mentions plans to apply for the K1, that may minimize her chances of getting the B2 because she has immigrant intent. I'd recommend applying for the B2 first, if you're going to do that, and then file the K1 after. Sounds like she has a fair amount of strong ties, but I'm not sure how many visitor visas are being awarded to Ukrainians at the moment because of everything going on there.

it's not the traveling to meet you that is the issue....it's the traveling back to the Ukraine after visiting...that's what's being assessed...her purported honesty has little to do with it...it's what the CO believes...right now, there is far too much turmoil in the Ukraine for the COs to be generous....I can only imagine how many hundreds, if not thousands of Ukrainians who already have tourist visas and are in the US are really and truly planning to return...(if I had to guess, I'd about 3).

I agree if things kick off in Ukraine it will not help. There was a thread a few years back about a guy who was trying to visas for his family lived in Aleppo Syria said it was OK there...

Any Syrian visiting the US is a good shoe in for an Asylum claim.

Being stubborn will not win her any Brownie points (nor get her a visa)...with a K1 in the works, a previous denial and new and improved reasons for returning that miraculously appeared within the last few weeks, well, really....do you think (or hope) that a CO is that naïve?

she might luck out, but given what has already transpired with her first attempt, the ongoing K1, the high rate of visa abuse by others in her demographic combined with the ongoing upheaval in Ukraine, ask yourself if you were a CO...what would you think the likelihood of her returning instead of changing her mind 2 minutes after the airplane's wheels kiss the concrete?

My friend, maybe you do not understand her bank position....she is not a teller....she sits on the board of the largest European Central Bank...she is one of the original partners.....her bank has ties to the west....she was in Canada last year....she travels in a company jet....she is known very well in the world of business.....the media has done pieces on her for her accomplishments as a business woman....she has more Phd's than you have fingers on a hand......we are not talking about an average Ukrainian woman who just has a job. And if you read the OP the k1 has not been filed yet....

Next....should I attend the interview with her? She asked that I bring the proper attire to go to the US Embassy...

She will not have any issues getting a US visa. Her position alone should qualify her for a business and tourist visa.

Even Sheldon does not have 5.

More than one PhD is an indicator of insanity or maybe a glutton for punishment ;)

Seriously I know a lot of people with PhDs and only two of them have more than one, just not needed unless you have gone into multiple fields with the intention of being a researcher in each one. Now multiple degrees is another thing, I know several with more than five (from bachelors to masters to PhD to medical degree to professional development degrees)

However this is moot.

Only thing you will lose by having her apply to visit is the filing fee and any costs going to and from the embassy for the interview.

Wishing her all the best in her applications.

I really like the way people read before they put there foot in there mouth...... I came here for help to see if a b-2 would make an issue with a k1.....

She could have the paperwork drafted for a b1, and get approval, but it would be false....She is requesting an interview date tomorrow for a b2 tourist visa....We will see if she gets it or not...
