Hi everybody,

I know that all this might be repeated, but I think I am in the summit of my frustration and would really appreciate the advice.

I followed every bit of recommendation when I applied for a NIV, yet still stuck under AP for about 9 weeks. I attended my F1 visa interview on 3rd, June 2014. The interview was smooth and I was told that my application is in order but necessary AP is required and I should wait for a phone call soon to provide them with my passport. Until this moment, my case is under processing.

I tried to contact the embassy several times, and on different email addresses with the same routine replies available on DOS websites. My concerns were never met individualy even after the 60 days time-interval which most instructions recommend it as time to start contacting the consular services.

I tried to be practical and contacted my graduate school and was able to get an extension for the 26th of August to be available at campus, or otherwise, I will be missing the semester. That was my best shot. Its getting more frustrating everyday I approach the beginning of classes especially that I am on a scholarship system which might be threatened by this delay. My whole career can be threatened actually!

Do you think that 60 days under processing is a bad sign?

Do you think that I should call the DOS at DC or the NVC? Can they provide anything useful besides regular guidlines?

What other things can be done?

Best,

AP is a black hole, you can ask as frequently as you like but there is no way of knowing how long it will be.

Compared to some Countries Jordan does not seem to be that bad.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Well, at least someone can explain why the last Status Updated Date is the same day as the interview after 9 weeks!

Because that was the last day that they touch your case, ever times they touch your case theyvupdate the date.

About ap it is nothing you can do.

I was aporoved mu k1 on march 18, on march 24 I was put in,ap, it is 4 months now, and they dont say why.

Nothing we can do just wait,

I second everyone's feedback. I went through 13 months of AP for my CR1 visa. It's a seemingly endless, helpless wait. And there's no prediction of when it gets cleared. Many people on this forum endure waits of 3 weeks to 3 months to 3 years. Anything is possible! But hope it's sooner than later.

Another way that they update the date is when they answer e-mail, in my case they have updated my case almost 8 or 9 times but it is because they answer e-mails, when they answer e-mail the case is updated automatically, so really they havent worked on my case from my intervoew on march.

This is black hole, I hope that in your case doesnt take longer.

Maybe they issue the visa soon, I am sure of one thing, e-mails, calls or letters dont work and dont help to end the ap, I have done all that, now I am no going to e-mail them anymore. I am just waiting that someone wanted take a dessicion.
