Not a dig really. Just a fact. All persons under 21 are not considered responsible enough to consume/purchase alcohol Yet some 15/16 year olds are charged as adults for crimes committed while at an age where they aren't considered responsible enough to make adult decisions concerning alcohol. Seems like a double standard to me. Either you're considered an adult at age 18, or you're not. Seems the criminal justice system is trying to have it both ways, hence the "weird double standard" comment.

We tell our youth that you must be 21 to purchase alcohol and we also tell them that if you are a minor and you commit a serious crime you could be charged as an adult. I don't think this sends a mixed message and definitely do no think it a double standard.

I wouldn't call it fascination. imo - its more nationalist pride & respect for those willing to give it all for their country. there hasn't been a military force invade the US in a lot longer.

1) I think the criminal justice system in your country is severely flawed (the premise of this thread).

2) I don't think that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have done much to defend American freedoms or advance the cause of freedom in those countries. You want to believe it because you seem to think that putting on a military uniform is tantamount to sainthood. I don't.

Interesting that you know I have an ex-wife. Since i dont know you at all i can only imagine some PM's have been flying about behind the scenes. Just what are you hoping to achieve with that?

1) you said combat veterans were peasant killers..

2) you said America hasn't won a war in over 70 years

3) the UK was also involved in Iraq and Afghanistan, so you must have they same thoughts towards their combat troops.

you seem to really hate America as well as the UK military.
