Lengthening wait times letter

I think the most important thing is to get it out early this week to whoever needs to see it, especially with the 60 day email that people got on Friday.

The letter is fine, but sending it to agencies that have nothing to do with the delay and have nothing to do with changing the policies will prove to be a wasted effort. If you search for I-130 letter writing campaign on this site you can see where we sent those letters to. The only changes between then an now is Jeh Johnson is the head dude at DOS and Leon Rodriguez is the head dude at USCIS.

I do think the media e-mails should go beyond Fox News, too.

I'll be sending to the msnbc team but that's a waste of time. They are not courting our demographic. It would be good to get a follow up to last years NYTs article though.

I only copied the list I was given. I intend to make my own list using some of the above. I certainly won't be sending to Fox News. I think this was just the list that floated round VJ last year. Everyone can choose who to send to if they want to send it at all.

No worries, a good effort on your side though. I would encourage everyone to send it to Fox. They are currently very anti-democrats and their policies and this is where we will get support. The left leaning media is very supportive of DACA, as they should be, but they won't get our point that DACA is affecting us with all the delays.

The letter is sort like the petition I posted, one more thing we can all do to shake things us, it's not something that will do much on it's own, but with a combination of efforts we might get some movement. There is another letter that has comps between the two service centers. It was a collaboration by other VJrs here. I'll posted for you guys.

There is this petition too, but we need way too many signatures.

Hey gusy, why don't we make this a petition at the white house website and ask more people to sign it! And if it exceeds certain number of signatures the gov has to address this issue!!!

And make it more of a issue regarding Legal immigrants are not treated equally as illegal ones!

It's the same for us K1 filers. I'm glad I didn't marry in her country, which I almost did, the wait time has always been longer for i130 filers, unfairly so!

This is in fact not true. I've seen it switch many times over.

Fox news is the best place to send it. Conservatives are the only ones who will listen and spread the word. MSNBC CNN and others are too sympathetic to illgal immigrants.

They have to respond to your petition. They don't have to address the issue. Two very different things.

Where is the source for this claim?

Each month a few hundred thousand I-130 petitions are filed with the USCIS from a US citizen on behalf of their spouse who is not a resident of the United States.

A few hundred thousand spousal petitions every month? That would mean in excess of 3 million spousal I-130s per year, and exceeds the number of marriages that took place within the US in the year 2011 alone (according to the CDC, using their most recent data: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/marriage-divorce.htm

This may be a minor point, but this just doesn't pass the smell test.

Edit: to fix link.
