Hello Guys;

after 34 days of getting my K1 ... i will be packing my whole luggage and be moving to Los Angeles to the love of my life and start a new life :) new place and new people. Suggesions requried what to pack what to take... The airlines that i am looking to are alowing only one luggage 23kg to be checked in and one 7kg to be in hand carry... i have two carpets small size (for offering prayers) which i really dont wanna leave in Dubai so i hope i can carry them what about books? i have a couple of very important of my books can i carry them? ... Any further information regarding my travel from experienced people will be highly appreciated.

N-400, Naturalization Journey:

Filing date: April 11, 2018

NOA1 date: April 12, 2018

Biometrics date: April 25, 2018

Interview scheduled/rescheduled: Jan 11, 2019/Feb 13, 2019

Yes, you can carry those books. I myself brought a lot books and packed my stuff into 5 large boxes, several small ones, 2 big suitcases, and one small one. Most of my stuff were my clothing since I am petite and was worried could not find the ones that fit me in the US.

Anyhow, congrats, have a safe flight, and welcome to America!

Guys same issue... I have big 3 suitcase and i dunno exactly the weight of each suitcase...

PAL only allowed 23kg 2piece bag... But 3 of us traveling together... I wonder if my suitcase exceeds 23kg and the other one less than 23kgs... Do they let me check in those luggage or do i have to transfer some stuff to make sure not more than 23kg each?

Just confused maybe they will need me transfer some of my stuff as they only allowed 23kg each bag... Even though total weight for all luggage will be less than 138kg total for 3 passenger luggage allowed...

I hope it makes sense guys...

I have to bring all my stuff that i need...

M so addicted on shopping so i got too many clothes...

Im petite and in america i will have to shop at teens department lol...

Why not bring them? Plus i have my kids with me so bringing 3big suitcase...

I do have some soveniours from Dubai ;) specially those carpet rugs which are really cool ones :) i have my lovely stereo which is gonna occupy some of the space but i dont wanna leave it here. since i am an engineer so i love my tools which i will bring with me too :) plus clothes and lots of dreams in my eyes :) i hope America becomes a good place for me as Dubai is or was.

It's ok to bring books, but if they are hardbound, they might probably occupy a big chunk of that 23kg, and then plus your tools. Unless they're that sentimental, I would suggest leaving them with your family for now, and just bring them over to US on your next trip home. Bring your essentials and those that you think you will have a hard time getting in US. But knowing you will be moving to LA, I think you won't have that much of an issue getting new stuff, especially clothes and brands that you're used to as there are a lot of international stores and communities too in there. :)

Unless they're that sentimental, I would suggest leaving them with your family for now, and just bring them over to US on your next trip home. Thanks :) but Dubai was my temporary living place my family doesn't live here and i can't leave my stuff here so i think i might be a bit overweight for which i have to pay to the airline... lets see :)
