I think chances are good the CO used the wrong stamp. These things seem to happen regularly in CDJ and it's the same code given to Allie's fiance when his fingerprints finally cleared after a false hit - and he had no previous immigration violations or interaction with immigration, ever.

Since you had a previous overstay on a B2 under 180 days, had requested an extension, and left the country voluntarily, it seems like this may be a 222g blanket waiver:

ALTHOUGH ANY ALIEN WHO OVERSTAYS ON AN NIV IS SUBJECT TO HAVING THE NIV AUTOMATICALLY VOIDED, 222(G) HAS NO EFFECT ON ANY FUTURE NIV APPLICATIONS BY THAT ALIEN UNLESS/UNLESS THE ALIEN IS APPLYING FOR A NEW VISA OUTSIDE HIS OR HER COUNTRY OF NATIONALITY. IF AN ALIEN OVERSTAYS AND THEN RETURNS TO HIS/HER COUNTRY OF NATIONALITY TO APPLY FOR A NEW NIV, THE ALIEN HAS IN FACT COMPLIED WITH 222(G) AND COULD NOT BE DENIED VISA PROCESSING ON 222(G) GROUNDS.

In any event, Brenda, it's great news that you didn't have to go through a 601 waiver process!!!
