Finally!!!! I mailed August 1st it arrived August 4th. Got my NOA1 3:48AM 8/20/2014

Yaaaaay!!! The MSC is the receipt number from the Nebraska Service Center.

Tried to do a walk-in biometrics today at Alexandria, VA. No good. They said they weren't taking anyone without an appointment. :-(

Not sure if I should try again another day or just wait for the appointment. Does going early speed up the EAD approval at all?

It says in case type I485 - I765 so i guess its for both.

1 letter (2 pages) for both I485 - I765

There's a barcode below for I485 and I765 so should say its for both

That sounds weird. Maybe 2 applicants and scheduled on a different dates? Not sure hehe

08/29/2014 is my schedule but i'd like to try an early walk-in.. Hopefully it will be succesfull!!!

Are you talking about NOA?

First you will receive thru email, text and hard copy letter are the NOA's that has your receipt number. Next letter you will receive is Appointment letter for Biometrics.

Strange, I did a walk-in biometrics at Alexandria, VA with zero questions asked back in June.

I went there at 3PM on a Thursday, the whole center was completely empty, just me and one other family for biometrics.

IMO it doesn't speed the EAD in any way, EAD takes at least 60-65 days unless you formally get it expedited.

However getting an early biometrics might help you in the interview scheduling queue if your case has been marked for an interview.

No, of course I didn't walk in without a letter! I have been dealing with US immigration for 15 years now I am not clueless, LOL.

I have the letter but my appointment is for 8/28.

I know it differs application support centre by centre, but in my case, the guy would ONLY take my walk in because I had an inconvenience and I had to show my flight itinerary that showed that I wouldn't be in Boston on my appointment date.

I also think you could try to do a walk in and it MIGHT work, ONLY if the centre is not busy...so don't go on a Monday or a Friday.

And I had two separate letters, two separate barcodes...though I had applied for it in the same application. Weird. Maybe they just didn't see it? I dunno, in whatever case, they still put it in the same system!

Good to know. I am just anxious to get me EAD and get a job!

I think it might have been the fact that it was just a busy day today and I was there around noon. There were at least 50-60 people waiting so I understand where they are coming from. The lady at the desk told me late afternoons are less busy if I wanted to try back another day but no guarantees. I think the fact that you went at 3 might have helped you. I might try again Friday afternoon.
