Pittsburgh which is closer to me is working on June filers but I'm not sure who I am with any more. I was with Nebraska and not sure how to find out where I am now. Any ideas for me to find out?

It is based on the county in which you are living. See the following link:

When filing an AOS, you always look at the processing time for your local field office, not the service center. The new times for January should be posting in the next week or so. You can always call and for a Tier 2 officer. They can at least tell you where your file is located. My online case status still says that my file is in Nebraska. In reality, it's been in my local office at least since December 8th. Just make sure the beneficiary of the I-485 is present when you call. They won't disclose details to you if you are just the petitioner. Best of luck!

Wishing all of your luck on your immigration journeys.

Thanks will do that. I am the beneficiary, so they do disclose information to me. I did a service request for my EAD/AP card, but not sure with this interview waiver letter I can do that. Everything such a minefield and if it wasn't for visa journey I would be totally lost.

That was REALLY helpful. Just looked and I am under Pittsburgh who are working on June filers as from today, so less wait than Philadelphia hopefully! Thanks again.

Apparently you will go to the field office nearest to you and they have their own timelines. Apparently I should be under Pittsburgh who are dealing with filers from June right now, although the timelines are due for updating in January. What a minefield, need a degree in immigration to get through it all! Lol!

Just got this, apparently an interview waiver letter doesn't apply to those rules. :*

Hi Shell, welcome to the NPIW club. You're going to be here for some time.

1. You can use the following link to establish which USCIS field office has jurisdiction over your address: https://egov.uscis.g....office_type=LOThis is probably the same office where you had your biometrics done if you haven't moved.

2. MSC stands for the Missouri Service Center which is now known as the National Benefits Center. All AOS applications go to the NBC initially and are therefore allocated an MSC receipt number.

3. The six month period begins from the date of the NPIW letter. The letter explicitly states this.

4. In terms of how your case is to be processed your local field office won't have any involvement unless yours is one of the few NPIW cases to be referred there for interview. Ignore the published local office processing times completely, they do not apply to your case. There are no published processing dates for NPIW cases.

What actually happens at the NBC for NPIW cases is a mystery. My understanding was that the NBC have a department that process NPIW cases. However, recent congressmen enquiries have suggested that the NBC is just a holding facility for NPIW cases and that all such cases are drip-fed to offices with spare capacity for processing. This drip-feed takes no account of local area responsibility e.g. a Portland Oregon case could be sent to Tampa Florida for processing if the Tampa office have less work at that time.

5. You can file a service request once the six months is up. A more informative way in which to proceed would be to go out into your garden and ask the nearest squirrel what's happening with your case. The squirrel will give you a more helpful and accurate answer than you will get from the USCIS mis-information line.

I hope you're enjoying your trip to the UK. Tally Ho! :-)

I didn't realize you had a potential interview waiver letter! So sorry!

I guess if your field office is working on June cases, receiving the interview waiver letter is definitely disheartening. You'll probably be in for a longer wait than if you were given the opportunity to interview. I'm sorry! :(

Wishing all of your luck on your immigration journeys.

Yeah in December it was my Christmas present. Bah humbug. Lol! Truthfully though, it seems an awful lot of people are now receiving these. Thanks for the welcome!!

But.... nope, unfortunately I don't want to be a member in this exclusive club, rather stick needles in my eyes or have a dose of piles, a tooth extracted via pliers, you get where I am coming from, but at least on the up side of things, we are all in it together. As the National Lottery in England says, "You have to be in it, to win it"!! Lol! I reckon if we play our cards nicely we should be able to able to apply for citizenship when we see our grandchildren have children of their own and that is being positive! Ha ha ha. :)

Our Adjustment Of Status Experience. ???

I and my husband took our son with us in the interview. Our appointment was yesterday @11 am, we arrived at the place almost 11 o'clock. At the intrance, there was a guard who inspect for ID's before going into the building, because my ID (passport) already expired, my husband had to go in first to confirm our interview appointment, while I was outside, one of the guards came out and told me that I could come in, too. When me and my son came into the building, I could see a large waiting area that was almost empty, we had to undergo a metal detector first and after that the guard told me to proceed to this another person, that was waiting while standing (I had no idea that he was the officer that will interview us) my husband approached him first, he shook our hands and told us that he's the officer who would do the interview then he led us again to this second waiting area (not as large as the first), and told us to wait. There were 1 couple waited and few individuals, there were surveillance cam in the room. After a few minutes, the officer came back and called my name. So glad we didn't wait for sooo long.

As we entered the door, he guided us in one of the small rooms (lots of small rooms inside). When we get into the officer's office, he asked us to raise our right hands, and swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth (my husband said "yes" and I said "I do") then we sat down. Because our son was with us, the officer told our son that the crayon and the coloring book in the table was for him. The officer was so nice and you would not feel nervous which really helped me feel comfortable talking. Then the question and answer began. First he asked for our ID, and took the copy that we made, then asked if I applied for EAD (which I wasn't, so I said no). The questions he asked were: how, when and where did me and my husband meet, why and how did we decide to get married, who contacted first, If did go to college, if so, what school, what was our new address (then he acknowledged about the first appointment interview that was sent to our previous address and he made sure that our new address is the address that they have on the file), then he asked for our new lease agreement. He also asked me questions that were in the i-485 forms. He also asked my husband few things like: about his job, about what school did he go and what degree. So we answered everything truthfully. :-) It felt like it was just a normal conversation coz when we laugh the officer laugh, too. LOL. By the way, he wrote our answers in a piece of paper and attached it to the folder with the rest of the informations, so be sure to answer everything truthfully. It seemed like he has been reviewing our application coz when we answered his questions he would tell he saw it in our file. Like when my husband mentioned about his previous job which was almost 5 yrs ago, the officer said "yeah, I saw it in the file.

Then all of a sudden he told us that what will I be getting is a 10yr greencard since me and my husband are married for over 2 years and that we can apply citizenship after 3 yrs. So when he said that, I was soo happy coz that means he approves our application. :-) :-) :-) HURRAY!!! When everything was done, he told us that we will received the greencard 10-30 days then told us that's it, he even walked us and open the door for us. Thankful that the IO was so nice.

I am soo happy that everything went well. The interview was such an amazing experience, though there were a few bumps in the road before I reached to this point, it was all worth it. Huge thank you for this website and to its members coz you guys are a part of our visa journey and your posts and comments were such a huge help. I couldn't believed that I have done this successfully without hiring a lawyer and that is because of this website. My advice is to be yourself and answer all the questions truthfully, and just show it to the IO that you're not nervous. :-) :-) :-)

Thank you so much again everyone. MAY Yah bless you all. :-) :-) :-)

Ha ha ha. :)

I feel your pain, believe me! lol

Yay! Our application was approved yesterday! ????
