@blinkie and August 2014 AOS filers

As others had mentioned in the thread, this a scare tactic they use when there are red flags about the relationship. They use this method to determine if you are lying or showing nervousness by answering questions you possibly could not answer. So don't make up things or answer the questions you have no idea about. (They know this). Listen to how ridiculous the questions are, if you answer it just to invent something, it may reveal that you are lying or have something to hide. Answer the questions that you know to the best of your ability. There are some things about my own siblings that I don't know about. So be truth and honest and you will be fine. I work for the my local police department and this a similar method they use for interrogations for polygraph and employment screenings.

i totally agree with you... but he was imposing things on us... like he wanted us to tell things which are not even to our concern...

I think it may have been profiling honestly. That was a stupid question. Implying that her parents would not like an Indian son in law and your parents wouldn't like a white daughter in law.

My husband is white and I'm black. I will probably lose my ###### if they ask such a stupid question.

I feel the same way, i've been hoping i wont get a d*ck head who does this .. Castlerosse my husband is also white & i'm also black.. I was also in a situation where one of my parents filed for me before and I was denied due to them only being LPR at the time.. It'll be interesting to hear about your experience.. Hope ours is nothing like this..

Exactly my point. It didn't even concern you, so how they expect you to answer it?

So to play devil's advocate here...I read somewhere about how these immigration officers ask these type of questions to throw people off. They seem stupid and they seem mundane and very obvious, but it's the way and order they ask them - which really does throw people off. In most obvious cases, you would ask easy and simple to answer questions, expected questions, like where did you first meet? but the weird ones like did they cry? It's a really specific instance where a) you wouldn't have practiced or expected them to ask and b) is a question that the husband and wife can answer completely differently if it was a fraudulent case.

So our interview time was 11:40 at Milwaukee office..we arrived there at 11:20 there was like six couples ahead us. our turn came at 12

this spanish guy came out and called my name .we both try to go in .he said only petitioner which is me the wife. He was so mean and grumpy ,no smile , no hello, when i arrived in his little office he said don't sit . he told me to raise my hand did little oath ceremony to tell truth. then he tell me pull chair and sit.and then interview begin with simple questions

this was our experience guys...hope it will be helpful to everyone...if anyone wants ask me anything please don't mind to ask me... msg me in msg box i will reply every msg. ..i will really like to help ..will post more helpful stuff.. and if we didn write anything correctly ..we apologize ...

Wow, talk about mr personality....I hope a positive letter arrives soon. We go on tuesday and I was perfectly calm until now, in my head it is simple this is an interview to test the validity of our marriage and by extension love for each other..so nothing to worry about after almost 6 years we are sure..But reading your experience looks like we will have to do some drills, and my luvbug is soooo forgetful!! :reading: At least for you guys that part is over!!

Lol yeah I saw. The email told me. Despite my better judgement I requested an expedite.

I'll get a letter from HR. William is printing out all our bills and his pay stubs to show he can't do it himself. Hopefully I get the request from them quickly so I can everything out today.

UGH! I'm so fed up! We filed AOS 90 days ago. Where in the hell is my husband's EAD??? He's actually starting to get very uptight about it all, and it's causing strife at this point. He's a pretty chill guy, so I know this is causing even more anxiety than he's exhibiting. Booooooo USCIS!!!

According the the conversation I had with USCIS this morning here's the latest update re my pending case...

- LA is just now processing apps from April...thus, I was told to anticipate additional 3-4 month waiting time.

- EAD and i131 should be finalized by mid November (per statement that those apps get processed within 60 days)

When I asked about the interview (e.g. is it random? who gets interviewed etc.) the rep replied that if we have a kid then the chance of getting interviewed is very "slim" - I'm guessing that having a kid gives credibility/bona fides? hmmm sure.

Finally, he did say that my aos app is within "normal" processing time for this particular office (LA). I didn't want to shower him with stories about others who got processed before me so I kept calm and just heard what he had to say (probably reading a default answer from their employee manual).

Good news? I know that they didn't lose my application :clock:

Did you ask specifically where your EAD application is? Are they also processed locally? Our rep mentioned Phoenix, AZ last Monday. I was a bit surprised. We're going through Los Angeles also. You'll be way luckier than us if you get it soon. I'm losing hope in the system, and Johan is taking it personally, like they're fixated on him for some reason. our K1 took longer than others also. Maybe it's ME?!

Please note that previous post was SIGNIFICANTLY shortened (without emotion, frustration, loss of hope, depletion, etc.). You can only imagine the look on my face while hearing some of the things the rep was telling me. He recommended I call back if I don't receive any notice re EAD i131 by mid Nov (he seemed pretty certain...but then again we all know the "value" of their certainty).

AOS app has moved to LA from Nebraska. It's not you, it's not me, it's not any of us...it's the system. We are all bleeding hope and running out of bandage.:crying:

Go Team Tina and Johan! I'm rooting for y'all!
