unfortunately my aos status is still on acceptance while my EAD is on initial review already, my biometrica appointment will be on 9/10/14.. and i know someone who files this august too and her aos and ead are both on initial review already ... i hope mine wont have any problem too

From what I've read, it doesn't seem to make a difference between "acceptance" and "initial review." My K1 (husband)'s I485 is in acceptance, while K2's is in "initial review." Since K2's is dependent on K1's, I'd think, if anything, it'd be the other way around.

New Visa Fees Quick question, Will AOS August filers be required to pay the $120 for financial affidavit review (dometically reviewed) as per new fees? This is the only increase I see that may affect our filing. Thoughts?

Here is the answer for all the Visa fees in general:

Fees that will increase (nonimmigrant fees only): Visa fees paid will be accepted 90 days after the new fees go into effect, as follows:

• If you paid your visa fee before September 12, 2014, and your visa interview is on or before December 11, 2014, you do not have to pay the difference between the new and old fee amounts.
• If you paid your visa fee before September 12, 2014, and your visa interview is on or after December 12, 2014, you will be required to pay the difference between the old and new fee amounts – no exceptions.

But what about the new fee for Affidavit of Support (filed domestically) that sounds more like the I-864 for AOS?

I don't think that new fees will affect our pending cases. The instructions for the forms say that we have to pay the fees appropriate for the filing date of the case.

My EAD got approved on Monday

So my I765 is in Card/Document production stage since 9/8, i485 is in Acceptance stage, I130 in Initial review stage. i485 and i130 haven't been touched since August 8th ( the date the biometrics letter was sent).

Dashka, after reading your thread on the other board, I went ahead and contacted my congresswoman and got the ball rolling. Johan's biometrics appt is Friday, and after that, I'm hoping he'll start the expedite process by calling. We got the authorization form filled out and will send it back to them on Friday. Now we just need the formal job letter and he's good to go!

I had my Biometrics appointment Yesterday and I was in and out in less than an hour.

Now the real wait begins...

August 16th, 2014 my Package was sent (I-130, I-485, I-765)

August 19th, 2014 was delivered to the Chicago Lockbox and signed by D. Nesbit

August 25th, 2014 I received 3 emails and text messages @ 6:24 am and my checks were cashed

August 27th, 2014 I received NOA's/ Biometrics appointment for 09/09/2014

September 9th, 2014 Biometrics Done

I completed my biometrics on 8/26 yet my case has not been updated since 08/07.. Here I thought it was moving quickly.

I might do dashka's thing and request for an EAD expedite if I get a job offer.

I already have a job and my current EAD doesn't expire until Nov 2014 so that's probably not an option for me. I suggest you do it though, having that document opens a lot of doors.

I recieved my NOA1 all 3 on Aug. 15 and up to now no biometrics appointment letter!

My I485 and EAD are both onm initial review and I 131 on acceptance.

Had my biometrics appt today in Tucson. Arrived 30 mins early and was out within 20 mins! Very fast and efficient!

Usual security screening before entering, no phones allowed to be switched on etc. Very nice lady, just a quick easy form to fill out, finger prints and photo taken. Lady was lovely and complimented my wedding band and engagement ring and even said that I took a great picture lol!

She didn't have any processing time information - So it's back to the waiting game for me!

Glad to get another part of the process completed.
