Got my biometrics letter yesterday and my appointment is already in 3 days!!!

I didnt check mail for a week, but I checked online every day and it showed acceptance all the time, not even initial review, so I thought it would take another week or so to get it.

It's weird, it says the letter was issued on august 8 ( NOA1 august 6), but then I dont know why it took them so long to mail it (the stamp says it was mailed ONLY on august14), so it's already a week and then another week because I didnt check my mail.

what if i didnt check my mail for the next few days and missed my boimetrics. It could have actually happened...

Oh well. I'm not complaining Just didnt expect my appointment in less then 3 weeks after NOA1. At least It will be a good lesson for me now, not to rely on online updates and always to check my mail.

I wish the whole process was that fast;

OH wow that was close! Any time I do anything USCIS, I check my mail like a woman possessed.

Yes same! I don't think the biometrics part shows up on the case status on the USCIS website. I thought it would...but nope.

Here is my progress thus far...

August 16th, 2014 my Package was sent

August 19th, 2014 was delivered to the Chicago Lockbox and signed by D. Nesbit

August 25th, 2014 I received 3 emails and text messages @ 6:24 am and my checks were cashed

I better start checking my mailbox daily too lol I don't expect anything "quickly" in regards to this...but I may be wrong,

That's the thing. I knew it takes around a month before the biometrics appointment. So I was shocked when I saw the date of my appointment. Now, im checking the mail every day. Who knows:)

hello everyone ...

i m sending my AOS papers soon ..i m sending I130 , I485 and I765 all together ..can anyone please tell me how many photographs in total i need to send ..i mean how many of US citizen and how many of alien relative...???

I sent 6 passport style photos though on the i485 instruction states that only 2 photos are needed, the 4 are back up photos. :-) We are only sending the i485 application. So since you are applying for i130, i485 nad i765, might as well send 2 passport style photos in each application that you are sending in case they need photos for the 3 applications. :-) and i think photos of the applicant/ beneficiary are the ones that are to be submitted.

Had my biometrics appointment today. It was scheduled for 1, I arrived at about 12:30 was processed and out by 12:45.

It was a pretty smooth experience. I hope it's smooth sailing from here.

Nice! things are progressing so fast for you! That's really cool. I can't believe how different our timelines are when we mailed our applications on the same day! We're still (not so) patiently waiting for our biometrics letter to show up. Some of it has to be location in the US, I would guess? I mean, we're going through Los Angeles, so they must be busy (I'm thinking?). Otherwise, like with the rest of USCIS, the major differences can't be explained. /shrug.

Yeah. I wish we had insight to the timeline differences, because this doesn't make sense. I always thought it was a first-come, first-serve type of deal. It certainly should be. We were all sent to the same place weren't we?

Make sure you bring your marriage license( if you changed your last name) even though the appointment letter says to just bring an ID.

I took mine just in case when I went yesterday, they didn't need it. But it's a good idea to bring it if you have done a name change.

yep, it's always better to be prepared for anything.

They asked for my license today so good thing my friend reminded me to bring it. She had her biometrics 2 years ago and they didnt accept her without a marriage license.

Hi, did your status check indicate that your app was sent to LA? I'm about one week behind your initial timeline.

Received three NOAs (8/26) and accordingly to their website - using our receipt # - ours was sent to Nebraska.

Well, at least I know that they received it and cashed my check.

Received three NOAs (8/26) and accordingly to their website - using our receipt # - ours was sent to Nebraska.

Well, at least I know that they received it and cashed my check.

Mine also said that it was sent to Nebraska. I'm under the impression that the K1 adjustments go to local offices, in my case, LA. But so far, I haven't gotten anything in the mail, other than the 6 (!!!) NOA1's. Ours seems to be moving turtle slowwww.

Edited to add: our biometrics appt should be in Oxnard. So, my thinking is that if Oxnard, or any other Los Angeles location is backed up, it'll back the whole process up for us. I could be VERY wrong though!
