Good morning :)

We are getting ready to file our I-751 joint petition. My expiration date is the end of October, so my filing window just opened.

Can you double-check our evidence and give us some advice?

I am a little bit nervous since we used to live with my wife's parents for the first 9 months of our marriage. We do not have any leases, utility bills, joint checking account (but a small savings account) or insurance for this time. The only major thing during this time is a car purchase (cash) and car insurance. We were both college students at that time.

For the rest of the 2-yr period we should be fine. We have a joint checking account, life insurance, just bought a house, etc.

Thank you so much!

List of Documents (Copies):

  • Copy of my Permanent Resident Card
  • Deed for our property (settled in April 2014) – mortgage only held in my name due to my wife's credit score
  • Lease for our previous residence (May 2013 – Apr 2014)

  • Sales contract & invoice for our car (August 2012)

  • Utility Bills for previous residence (Gas, Water, Electricity)
  • Utility Bills for current residence (Gas, Electricity)
  • Account statements for checking account from August 2013 – June 2014
  • Account statements for savings account at XYZ Bank from January 2013 – July 2014
  • Account statements for old (closed) savings account at ZYX from September 2013 – August 2012

  • Bank Confirmation that my wife is the beneficiary of my IRA
  • Credit Card, showing the same account number (auth. user) – can I redact some of the digits?
  • Another credit card, showing the same account number (auth. user) – same question here.
  • Life Insurance for me with my wife listed as the beneficiary (print out from insurance company web site)

Your list is extensive and comprehensive. I wouldn't sweat your living arrangements for the first 9 months you were married; your circumstances were what they were at that time and you can clearly account for them.

I would be shocked if you were to receive an RFE after having sent such a list of evidence.

I agree. You have a great list of documents. Should be approved without any problem.

Your question about credit card #: I would not be worried about it. You already gave USCIS all the important information. :)
