I did, but I'm a divorce waiver filer, so it's much more likely to get one. Apparently they have to randomly pick, but they also choose based on red flag factors. I thought mine was due to a red flag (we had lots of separation time) but the interview made me feel like it was a random selection. They work in mysterious ways...!

Ready for my grand ol' timeline? Alrighty then!

06-13-11 - I-130 approved
10-13-11 - CASE COMPLETE!

I had my interview on July 30,and the interview felt like it was just a formality. The questions they asked just when we met, how me met, and she asked about our pictures. That's basically it. We received our approval letter today, two days after the interview.

We got interviewed for the CPR (which is normal). We filed to remove conditions at the end of 2013 and got an RFE in May 2014. Sent in some more evidence and got approved with no interview. I thought for sure we would get one since we didn't have much evidence financially (we had plenty of evidence of us living together though). I've read on here that people with loads of evidence get chosen for interviews and you get people like us who don't have a lot, so I think it might be random.

I believe they categorize cases according to the likelihood of fraud. Class A, the least likely, get 0-30% interviews depending on the office, Class B get 30-50%, and Class C get 100%. I think the actual cases are selected at random (of course there's not much randomness in Class C).

How do we know what class we have been categorized after being GC has been approved? does it show in the card?

Thank you

No, there is no way to know. It's an internal thing they do.

I'm mostly saying that the more they suspect fraud the more likely you are to get an interview, but they do schedule interviews even for some people with very low likelihood of fraud.

Also note that many people have reported that the interviews were not too taxing.

If you read through this board, there is a lot of stressing (which is understandable) but very few people actually saying "I was denied and it was unfair."

Also, based on a discussion I had with an IDO, an RFE is usually issued when they feel they can approve with more evidence. So if what she told me is true, a thorough and responsive reply to an RFE, if you can do it, will often get an approval, not a transfer to a local office for an interview. Of course you have to be able to provide what they're seeking.

Thank you for your response. I have another question and I would like to hear your comments, at the end of the interview the IO explained the ROC process and was very clear that the evidence we need to submit should not be the same we sent in the AOS package as they already have it. We should send evidence of our bona fide marriage since the day the conditional GC was approved until is time to apply for ROC. I've read in other threads that some couples had received RFE's asking for evidence right from the very beginning. What are your thoughts?

Thank you
