Are you getting excited that your interview is 10 days?!

I'm excited that it's almost here but nervous for the actual interview :-/

visa issued!!!!

Visa on hand guys!!

Thank you everybody, we couldnt be any happier. She flyes in on thursday, it took the embassy 4 business days to have the package ready to be picked up by my wife. Very efficient. Good think bc i was worried about having to change her flight dates. I saw some posting that there are no updates on the passport once the interview is don and visa issued; in our case the site is only updated once the package is picked up by the courier service.

Good luck guys

Case complete as of today... :dancing:

Just got CC(AoS changed to N/A).

Hello new thread :D

Visa in hand!! 4 days after interview, even though ustraveldocs still shows no update status !!! Nonetheless, happy and excited this is over. Now we just have to deal with O'hare POE!

Congrats y'all :D Edited by urbangirluk

Hi there,

Thanks so much for the information you provided earlier in the thread. Would you mind giving me an idea of what my husband should be preparing for the interview? I've read all the lists but wanted to see if there is anything Australian specific that we may have missed. Also, did you receive a letter form the embassy with all the information they require you to bring to the interview?

Thanks and I hope it all goes well!

We only received a letter from NVC about the interview (the generic one) but nothing from the consulate specifically. I'm not sure that there's anything specific to Australia required, apart from the 3kg pre-paid express post envelope. We picked one up yesterday and unfortunately all they had in the 3kg range was the plasticky type, not a solid envelope :( we also received our medical results yesterday, so will take those in addition to copies of everything we've already submitted.

If you want to attend the interview with your spouse you'll need to contact the consulate via email and request that they add your name to their security list. I emailed last Monday and haven't heard back yet, so will follow that up today.

Other than that, I guess just read the links in the first post of this thread (which I gather you have already done) for tips :) I have been firing random interview questions at my husband the last few days - just to keep him on his toes! ;)

The Sydney Consulate is fairly easy. Here are things to consider...

We were NOT asked for the DS-260 confirmation. We took anything that was on our interview letter (plus copies of everything else), but we were not asked for anything. Nada. Zilch.

The interview letter will come from NVC via email.

If you are going to the interview with your husband, you need to write the Consulate via email and get written permission to attend. They will send you an acknowledgement and tell you to bring the letter with you when you come. We had this, and were not asked for it at all.

And, if your hubby's results from his medical are on a CD-rom, he will need to show this to security, and make sure they understand what the CD is. If they don't allow him to take it up, he'll have to go all the way back down to the 10th floor and retrieve it!

Good luck!!!!

Thanks for the help! We were informed by NVC that we will receive an email from the embassy regarding the interview so I guess I'll give them a week and wait to hear. One more quick question (and I feel really dumb asking this) but how do I obtain the DS-260 confirmation page? Is it too late to do that now? I read on the travel.state website that you don't need to bring it with you as they have full access to it but would rather be prepared than not!

I won't be going with my husband to the interview as I'm already back in the US working so he's on his own. He should be fine though! :)

Thanks again!

Can't help you with that one I'm afraid - I saved a copy when we did it but not sure how to access it after that. I've also been told it wasn't required so wouldn't worry if you can't get it :)

Hey VJ Friends,

I sent an email to the US Embassy in Egypt about police certificates & asked how long its taking them to schedule interview appointments and this is what they replied:

"as for the police certificate it is valid for one year, even if it says it is only for 3 months. As for the interview, the NVC determines that not the American Embassy.

Regards,

Consular Staff "

I thought the US Embassy in Egypt was the one that scheduled the interview dates not NVC?? Any thoughts? Does this mean that maybe Cairo is caught up and they're back to normal interview scheduling?
