Interview date is Sept. 2nd. I have a question about the shipping of visas after the interview. My wife and stepdaughter both have a case number. My wife signed up online as required with her case number, but did not see a place to add my stepdaughter. Does anyone know if we need to setup a separate shipping waybill for my stepdaughter? Thanks

You are most welcome. It should be fine; especially since you will be with him. Off topic, but my wife and I are having a battle of wills over the AC. It's not what you think...she wants it OFF and I want it on. This from a woman who is used to sub-zero weather in the winter. Only a Houstonian or Florida resident can appreciate how crazy that is.

Best of luck to you!

hahaha! Thank you!! I feel ya bc my hubby is the same way. I always have the AC on and he claims I have it too cold. But yes, that is crazy considering Russian winters are way worse than English winters!!

LOL. Once I saw that I was like "yep, sounds like my wife..." She's from Florida and anytime that it reaches to 80* degree F here, she complains that there isn't any A/C in the UK.. But I can understand AC is obviously needed in places like that with the heat. Hope she gets use to the weather soon and then wants the AC on constantly.

I feel her pain. I'm about to head over there on Friday and I keep asking if it's hot but luckily it looks like it'll be in the 60's during the day and in the 40's-50's at night. That's freezing for us southerners!! BRR.

Tomorrow morning is my interview!!

My husband (petitioner) will go with me. Wish me luck! I have a plane ticket for Aug 31st, so hopefully I'll get the visa before then smileys-praying-929024.gif

This process seems to be almost over, what a relief th_whew.gif

GOOD LUCK!! :D You'll do great!!

Hi! I read somewhere in this website that a week after POE you can go to a SS office and personally apply for a ssn; if you already requested a card in the DS-260, then you can still go to a SS office and ask for the number itself (maybe doing so won't make them issue the card faster, but at least you will know the number and can provide it to your employer, banks, etc). This is what I plan to do, go to a SS office a week after POE

my thoughts for you is to go as soon as possible, inquire about the status of your card and request the number! Keep us posted... Good luck!!!

We've already been to the social security office twice, but errors made by the customs agent at POE have prevented us from getting the card. We'll be trying again on Friday because supposedly CBP has fixed the mistakes, but we'll see. Also as a heads up, social security won't give you your SSN at the office anymore. They changed policy on August 1 and now for security purposes you have to wait to receive your number in the mail.

Hi there,

My husband's case was expedited and we are waiting to hear from the consulate in Sydney. Just wondering if anyone else has had the experience of expedition and how long it typically takes to be scheduled for an interview, etc. Thanks!

CONGRATULATIONS FOR ALL THE GREAT NEWS POSTED!!!! AND GOOD LUCK FOR THE UPCOMING INTERVIEWS!!! :)

I am sorry for my summarized BEST WISHES posting, but, honestly, I cannot keep up w u all lately; so active. :)

This is off topic and really belongs in a diff thread but since some of u all were posting about it, I wanted to mention something that I think some may overlook when it is time to apply for that I-485, Change of Status. Last year, I had gone to a local USCIS seminar, that was held in my local library. It turned out to be mainly for 485 applicants and not for the 130 apps, but a point that was raised very adamantly was that when you apply for your change of ststus, DO NOT FILE OR MAIL IT TOO EARLY. Otherwise, you will have to wait for them to process the application, take your money and reject it. You must file after the waiting period and not one day before. So, please pay attention to the dates. This rule was repeated two times, to clarify that all heard and comprehended what she was saying.

Hi all, my wife's interview is in exactly one week and I'm freaking out and am so nervous. She's going without me and I'm so worried she'll get denied or that something bad will happen. Back when we were dating she applied for and was denied a tourist visa and I'll never forget the feeling of her emailing me with the news of her denial while sobbing at her computer, not to mention the entire 2 hour bus ride back home. It's an emotion and a day that will be in my memory forever and I'm scared it's going to be repeated next week.

Any words of encouragement or pep talk anyone can offer possibly? I'm a nervous wreck.

We've already been to the social security office twice, but errors made by the customs agent at POE have prevented us from getting the card. We'll be trying again on Friday because supposedly CBP has fixed the mistakes, but we'll see. Also as a heads up, social security won't give you your SSN at the office anymore. They changed policy on August 1 and now for security purposes you have to wait to receive your number in the mail.

hahaha! Thank you!! I feel ya bc my hubby is the same way. I always have the AC on and he claims I have it too cold. But yes, that is crazy considering Russian winters are way worse than English winters!!

I feel her pain. I'm about to head over there on Friday and I keep asking if it's hot but luckily it looks like it'll be in the 60's during the day and in the 40's-50's at night. That's freezing for us southerners!! BRR.

GOOD LUCK!! :D You'll do great!!

Oh you should be fine. When we were in London two days ago it was fine :P. She was freezing the other night it was about 49*F for the low! Autumn is coming early this year :)

You're in for a climate change coming to live in Florida. Wish you and your wife all the best.

Cheers! I love the heat and sunshine. I think it will beat the UK's miserable weather  Happy for you and your wife to be back together! Bet it feels unreal still!
