How is her driving school progress?

Next scheduling window should open by the end of next week.

Since your case file (which includes your IV packet originals) is already at the Consulate and you already submitted DS-260 online, you're good to go as is, unless you have a pending checklist or you have additional information or corrections to known mistakes. Remember that NVC didn't get a chance to check the completeness and correctness of your submissions. Best of luck!

so that means I won't get interview date till September!? And then it's for sure will be October interview then.... That sucks. Then there is no difference on Cc between 14 and end of next week

That's how it seems, I'm afraid. Sometimes the draw of luck will get us interview scheduling out of synch, but it is rare (lookup the spreadsheet in Post #1). I myself have been waiting for an interview since July 30th.

So today was the day.

Got to the consulate this morning at 07:10, first received a number and then security. After that I proceed to another building with a big room with several counters.

First I had to go to a reception were the provide a sheet of the different stations and told me to go to the first counter (22) they collected my passport there and asked for the print out of the ustraveldoc side with the registered address for the IV package.

Then they told me to wait to be called for the next counter (either 21 or 20).

After a short time they called my number and took my fingerprints and went thru the details (needed to change our US address since we just moved last week). Then they handed over some information about SSN, the condition green card and the domestic violence brochure.

After that I waited for the interview with the vice consul.

Which called me shortly after. He took my oath and another scan of my fingers and then started the interview.

-Where did you meet your spouse?

-Where was he working then?

-Does his family live there?

-Where will we live now?

-Then specific questions to a picture we provide:

Where was it taken and why did you wear helmets?

Then he handed me over the originals and said that everything is fine and he approves the visa.

I asked how long it will take to get it back since I am flying on Monday and he said that the visa will be issued either today or tomorrow morning and then goes straight into the mail.

I should have it on hand either Thursday or Friday will see.

Visa was issued then later today as he said.

Thanks so much for all the help here and good luck to everyone still waiting, it soon will be other.....

CONGRATS!!!! So happy for you! :)

Welp, $165 paid and booked her ticket - Aug 31.

k.dlg - you'll have to post your IAH entry experience to see what kind of mood they're in working on Labor Day weekend.

I'll ask my wife again how she was treated. I know that she asked one if them "what now?", and they said "go to your husband!" She walked out 2 hours after her plane landed, so it wasn't too bad. She arrived @ 14:30 I think. We chose to fly from Moscow non-stop rather than Minsk-Frankfurt-Houston

Interview in Hong Kong today. Approved - they said they'll contact me to collect the visa early next week as I live in Macau and need my passport to get back. Hoping to be home for the Labor Day weekend to spend some time with the kids before they go back to school.

We got NO instructions - no sheet of info, no "go to this website" from Sydney, Australia. I'm so thankful for this list - I knew where to go to pay it!!!

My spouse has now been in the US for 35 days. No Green Card yet.

Sukie in NY

We're now at 7 weeks since POE -- no SSN, no green card. The card isn't even optimized on ELIS tracking yet :clock: Did they tell you how long to expect the GC to take?

Ours is a bit of a confusing situation. Many spousal visa immigrants go through POE and have their SSNs within a couple of weeks of arriving. That would be normal. The visa has a temporary green card, so while the real green card takes generally 1-3 months to arrive, you still have proof of legal residency and legal authorization to work in the meantime.

Unfortunately for us the customs agent at POE made some mistakes entering my husband's info into the system, and trying to correct it has set us back hugely. Since he is legally allowed to work, he has been applying to jobs. I expect he could get through an interview and still be fine, but at the point of starting a new job they generally want to verify SSN. I'm not sure what'll happen if he gets that far and we still don't have a number assigned -- I've seen other VJ members say they simply told employers they were in the process of applying and it was fine -- but we'll cross that bridge if we come to it.
