I have interview scheduled in Tokyo, our family already relocated back to US and I am visiting with them.

I will fly to Tokyo for interview, and wondering how long it typically takes to get passport back after the interview? I remember seeing others get it back in a 3-4 days?

It is unpredictable it will be around 3-10 days mostly if you are not in AP , however should you in AP then it will take weeks or months even years ( rare )

Checking back in. Interview on the 7th. Recieved Blue slip for 10 year residency and timeline. Today went to turn those in and recieved an OK for my wife to come to the states. Sooooooo stoked!!!!! Thank you everyone who've helped me along the way. VJ is truly a blessing.

Question, husband is finally coming today!! YEAA!! He has unpaid transit tickets in his country, Dominican Republic, does anybody know if they will make him pay it at customs before he leaves the country to get here?

Is there any way to tell if an interview has been scheduled besides calling? Just that we're currently on holiday so calling is difficult! Does ceac update at all? Even just to know that a date had been scheduled, regardless of when, would be good...

The emails have been slow coming like some a week after scheduling. Usually the CEAC tracker isn't updated until they ship your petition out to embassy sometimes they update shortly after scheduling. So its just a wait and see. I guess just check our email when you get back.

Drop all the cash to get the documents again, it could work for everything. That is a fantastic idea actually, thank you!

Congratulations on your interview date I have added you to the spreadsheet.

There is no need to waste your money on things you already submitted. Unless your checklist says bring it it isn't necessary. Like the other poster said its standard. You don't have to run around replicating what you already submitted to NVC.

Just relax have your medial go to interview.

You are going through by far the kindest easiest embassy on earth. Even if it was Lagos i would tell you same you don;t need to go get duplicates of everything they have it.

**Now note to anyone reading this. You should have made copies of every single thing you submitted. There should have been 3 copies of your I-130 petition, NVC. One for immigration, one for petitioner one for beneficiary.

I also have interview scheduled on Sep 2, I am the beneficiary from Tokyo, Japan and my case was complete on Aug 11.

just got off the phone and talk to MIGUEL, he was so nice. he told me that our interview was scheduled yesterday. here it is:

I am not sure if I need to bring an updated i-864 for my husband at the interview...

He (U.S citizen) was in Japan when we sent the documents to NVC and were approved.

We have a co-sponsor due to my husband's foreign income.

Then he moved to America and got a job. Should we prepare the updated i-864? My interview is coming soon.

Visa issued same day? No If not whats the waiting period? about two business days after the interview they mail your passport and visa back to you

That's pretty country specific. He would need to check if DR will allow him to leave with unpaid tickets. US has nothing to do with it.

I know there are countries you can't leave with debt. So i guess he needs to check and find out. Can't imagine a transit ticket but every country is different with their own rules.
