Bdrew612 the weirdest thing happened when i went out for lunch today. It was 2:30pm I am sitting in this Houston heat at a traffic jam. I look up and I see British Airways plane coming in for landing (I am down the road from George Bush International). And it just welled up in me. Just thinking of you all coming home together well my heart was just overcome with joy.(L) .... I know I a big old softie. hehe

You're our Mama Bear! :-)

I actually have a layover in Dallas tomorrow, flying Britiah Airways, too! Thank you so much for all your help, I'll still pop in here with my cray cray nonsense, don't you worry about that!

Can anyone share the reason they gave when asking for an earlier interview date? I simply was honest and told them I was hoping to be reunited with my wife as soon as possible after a long and very difficult time living apart during our visa application process. Even though I'm 'ready' to be interviewed now after having my medical I guess they just didn't think my reason for wanting a sooner interview was valid.

I suppose I'm just a little shocked as so far I've only seen people here reporting success in getting their dates moved. Do you think this is something I can try asking for again after a while or is that the end of it? In order for the date to be changed do you need to have a valid reason? Is simply wanting to be with your spouse as soon as possible not a good enough reason?

I gave a similar reason but was turned down too. I wanted to be honest and not come up with a reason just to get an earlier date. I think it's based purely on luck (or the time you request) as an earlier date usually means someone else cancelled and can't make that date. So I think if you happen to ask at the time there is a cancellation, they can immediately give you that vacant slot. Perhaps eastyo11 was lucky with his timing.

I guess you can keep asking at regular intervals and hope for the best. My interview is Sept, 11 so for me, I've waited more than a year - another month won't kill me. But that's just me :)

All the best!

I guess it depends on how much documentation you have. I got a big expandable folder, but realize I don't have much documentation so it seems pretty empty now. I considering doing what you're doing as well. Just dump them all in the manila folder. Seems from the threads that they're not asking for a lot of pictures, telephone bills. chat logs and all that.

I put all the documents required on the interview letter and the courier registration in one folder and in another folder I put extra stuff like pictures, joint back account info etc.. And I put a little label on each folder listing what's inside so I can easily find what I need!

If you can, try to stay away from the straight-up manilla folder. Papers might easily drop from them. I got the folders with pockets, like we used in school but translucent, plastic ones. Back-to-school sales are going on now. So, they are in abundance at the office stores. Also, I got the removable file folder label tabs. They fit easily on the docs while inside the folders and you can put them in different spots on the pages, to make it easier to find things inside the folders. You can also sort the docs into groupings. Like marriage and birth certs in one section, to help make it easier to know which section each doc is in. Put the folders inside of a larger envelope. This will double ensure no dropping . Hope this helps.

Thanks y'all!

Great advice all the way around.

We'll put important docs in one folder (clipped or pocketed), - so they don't fall out!! :)

And put back-up evidence in a separate folder.

It does seem that they are only looking at the required docs at this point, -- and the easier access the better.

We're still going to bring some of our back up documentation though. Hope they at least look at some of our pics!
