Hi all,

We are coming up on our interview and getting our documents together. How are people presenting their documents in the interview? We were just going to put the required important docs loose in a manilla folder.

Any thoughts.

I put all the documents required on the interview letter and the courier registration in one folder and in another folder I put extra stuff like pictures, joint back account info etc.. And I put a little label on each folder listing what's inside so I can easily find what I need!

If you can, try to stay away from the straight-up manilla folder. Papers might easily drop from them. I got the folders with pockets, like we used in school but translucent, plastic ones. Back-to-school sales are going on now. So, they are in abundance at the office stores. Also, I got the removable file folder label tabs. They fit easily on the docs while inside the folders and you can put them in different spots on the pages, to make it easier to find things inside the folders. You can also sort the docs into groupings. Like marriage and birth certs in one section, to help make it easier to know which section each doc is in. Put the folders inside of a larger envelope. This will double ensure no dropping . Hope this helps.

I just want to report my husband's visa interview yesterday resulted in it being

APPROVED!!!!

woohoo!!! We are so excited and happy. We even got to have a relaxing afternoon at the beautiful white sand beaches in Barbados, so I would say that the day was pretty good! We already bought our tickets to go to the US for 26 August and are getting into planning mode to be ready in time. There is so much going on in my head right now that I even woke up at 5:30am with thoughts racing despite hoping to sleep in!

I haven't really been on visajourney since we came to Barbados for the medical last week, so I am guessing that I have missed much great news of visa approvals. I just want to wish all of those who have had recent visa approvals a huge

To all of those waiting, it's coming! And it will feel so great when you finally get there!

The interview exceeded our expectations, in that everyone was so friendly and were obviously trying to lighten our mood and relieve the stress. I have posted a full review of our medical and interview experience as a review for the Barbados embassy.

Now we are just waiting to have the visa in hand. The information sheet that we were given told us we should get the passport back in 7 days (sounds like heaven compared to the "30 days" message of NVC ). I forgot to ask about the system issues while at the interview, but the CO didn't mention any type of delay. I just emailed the embassy this morning to ask if there are currently any delays so should hear back from them today.

I see that on the spreadsheet, and someone else said they got their date scheduled on the 2nd (which was a Saturday). I'm wondering if they were actually scheduled during the prior week when the rest of round 1 was done and are reporting the date they received the interview letter?

ANYHOO, hopefully you hear some news this week!!!!

Edit: I do wonder if it's an Embassy that isn't that busy, they may get scheduled right away as opposed to other Embassies?

I called NVC this morning. No interview date yet. The agent told me that they book interviews through the month and there are no phase 1 and phase 2. It depends upon individual Embassy and openings available for interviews. She told me that they are still booking for September interviews. She could not give me any definite time frame and asked to call back later in the week.

dwheels and vj friends - I have a question regarding interview. If you need to have something corrected, like in my case a typo on the current address, at what time during the interview should I bring this up?

Doesn't really matter as long as you tell them. Just tell them "I need to give you my correct address its wrong on the form".

I guess same goes for NVC completely deciding to misspell my husband's last name. I figured it would be better to bring it up at the Embassy since NVC would tell me it would take 60 to fix their error.

Question - So, apparently there is an "Immigrant Data Sheet" attached to the front of the packet. My hubby was carefully taking everything out of the clear packaging and discovered that this sheet was torn off (so the top edges are torn off) and folded in half and sort of thrown in there. We were not impressed if this was done by either the courier or the embassy. We are going to try and get a new sheet, but would it absolutely be necessary since all of the essential information is clearly visible? The packet was not ripped, just the data sheet.

I believe this data sheet is for your benefit only. If you can decipher what's on it then that's all that matters. The sealed envelope with its contents needs to be intact though.
