I know I can't pay it yet, but I wasn't sure if I could set up the account early or not. I was able to set it up no problem, I just can't do anything with it yet LOL :clock:

Thanks!

You may also have to add 1-2 "zeros" in front of the number. My wife's was 8 numbers and USCIS insists on 9 numbers! We've been treated to the 45 day song and dance as well. They took our money ASAP but are still "processing" the form. On the plus side, the SSN already arrived. Best of luck!

hey guys, did you get your marriage certificate back after the interview? or do they keep that? if they keep that, i'm thinking we need to get another one just in case for the SSA, DMV, etc

You should get all originals back except PCC, handed to you at the end of the interview, not included in the sealed brown envelope.

Dwheels and vj friends - in Vietnam, they require applicant to submit a list of relatives in the US. My wife thinks she has an uncle that lives in the US, but not sure. He fled Vietnam back in the 70s and no family member has contact info since. Should she say no relatives in US, or mention him and say no info available since no contact with family for 30 years?

Thanks!

He could be anywhere, using a new name or even deceased - no need to bring it up unless she has already.

I am sorry I need to shout a little :girlwerewolf2xn: . Even though I am far from being the unlucky one here.

Our expedite request was approved July 24th and my documents were sent by NVC the same very day. NVC told us the consulate received everything on July 28th (which would match the package tracking). I have been emailing Frankfurt consulate since then. Last week they answered several times that they haven't heard of my case.

They finally admitted this week that they received it (telling me they received it August 1st) (ok whatever......) and told me they sent a letter to my German address on August 4th. I know German mail delivery: it is fast. (I received my police certificate the same week as I requested it and I just received a letter posted yesterday from my company)

I still didn't get their F******** letter. I am wondering if they put any stamps on the letter? I asked them to send me the letter by email but no answer yet.

and icing on the cake: I have put in the subject of my first email: my case number, maiden name, married name, first name. They changed it themselves each time they answered me, until the last email where they finaly got my maiden name spelled wrong! and erased my married name!!

It is like writting to an intern who is underpaid.

I thought I would have had a idea of what would happen in the next months by now! I am not even requesting an interview date. My questions in my emails to them is how much time they think they need or when they think I can go have my medical exam. I only want to know a rough timetable. :clock: and it is the one thing they keep as a secret :secret:

This is how it works if you look at the list from the August 5th bunch you see where it leaves Boston. When we say call NVC and get the date they shipped that' not the DHL date. NVC sends bundles to Boston. It's only when DHL scans into their system in Boston the date cloak is stamped. Usually its 1 to 2 days after the date NVC gives you.

That EXP 05 AUG 2014A has to be precisely on point on order to pull up packages. And than you use a date range usually the day or two before and leave the current date alone.

Now remember just because you see Australia doesn't mean its yours its a guesstimate at best but if the dates line up more than likely.

So probably Monday it will appear and have EXP 06 AUG 2014A or EXP 08 AUG 2014A

Question about flight booking: last time i traveled abroad, i tried to book my flight w a credit card, my husband had, from outside the US. The system would not take it. But now, he no longer has that card. How do we book his flight? Bc if i do it w one of my cards, doesnt the passenger name have to match the name on the card? I have seen some sites say you may to show the card when you get to the airport. When i sent him some original docs, I included one color copy that had on it my passport (my picture page, biodata page?), front and back of my driver's license and a note, written by me, stating my husband's name and saying that he has my permission to use my credit card for his flight. I signed and dated it. I honestly do not know if this will suffice. Does anyone have any suggestions? He will have to travel to Amman, Jordan, for the flight. So, paying in advance, in person would not be an easy feat; it is a long and expensive journey, just to pay at the airport.

Marhaba, I ran into this last year when I paid for tickets for my spouse and her sister to come for a 5-week visit. You list your city as Chicago. Does the airline you are using have a ticket office in Chicago? My spouse and sister came on Korean Airlines, and before they flew, I went to the ticket office in New York City and presented my credit card there - they accepted it with no issues and the two women flew from Australia with no problems.

This might be an alternative.

Do i need any docs for POE? Besides yellow envelope, xray, blood test and passport with visa.

Can they ask to show them any evidence of bona fide marriage or anything else?

Sure they can ask. Some get taken to secondary interview. But I wouldn't be too worried. Just hand over what they ask answer questions should be effortless.

Let us know when you get here.
