I am right there with you! Having to walk across 2 parking lots that are far away from the buildings doesn't help when you have a blanket of hair.

omg! booking flight was a huge pain in the a** >.< but made it

BDG-WAW-FRA-MSP on September 4th

Question about flight booking: last time i traveled abroad, i tried to book my flight w a credit card, my husband had, from outside the US. The system would not take it. But now, he no longer has that card. How do we book his flight? Bc if i do it w one of my cards, doesnt the passenger name have to match the name on the card? I have seen some sites say you may to show the card when you get to the airport. When i sent him some original docs, I included one color copy that had on it my passport (my picture page, biodata page?), front and back of my driver's license and a note, written by me, stating my husband's name and saying that he has my permission to use my credit card for his flight. I signed and dated it. I honestly do not know if this will suffice. Does anyone have any suggestions? He will have to travel to Amman, Jordan, for the flight. So, paying in advance, in person would not be an easy feat; it is a long and expensive journey, just to pay at the airport. Edited by Marhaba

Dwheels and vj friends - in Vietnam, they require applicant to submit a list of relatives in the US. My wife thinks she has an uncle that lives in the US, but not sure. He fled Vietnam back in the 70s and no family member has contact info since. Should she say no relatives in US, or mention him and say no info available since no contact with family for 30 years?

Thanks!

If you register at the booking agency with a US address and try to use a non-US card (or vice versa), chances are the charge will be denied.

I used Travelocity and United Airlines online systems in the past for purchasing tickets for near, distant and non-relatives with no issues. I'm a long established customer with both, though.

Anyway, brick and mortar travel agencies are still in abundance in the Middle East, so chances are he can book a flight at a nearby agent with little extra cost.

Usually, this refers to 1st degree relatives only (parents, siblings and off-springs). Check with the Consulate to be sure as it might be country-specific. If not sure, better mention his name and state that address/contacts are unknown.

I would just say I have heard of an uncle that fled here during the Vietnam war but no one knows about him. And that's that.
