Hello There our case got completed on the 23 august 2014 , how long should we wait for an interview date ?

Do I have to call or go to consulate in person in order to schedule our interview or just wait for them (Nvc) to call us or what !!??

Welcome to the group. I added you to spreadsheet. Jamie & Izzy from Morocco had case complete 8/22 so wouldn't be surprised if you may have a date. Keep an eye on your email.

If you don't get email by Monday night call NVC Tuesday.

Embassy has nothing to do with this. You are thinking K1 Visa folks. Just hang on.

Great to see so many interviews scheduled this week :) Hope to see many more next week for everyone else still waiting!

I have spent the morning sorting through all our paperwork so my husband can take it to the interview on the 9th. Despite every reviewer of the Sydney Consulate talking about how easy it was an how they didn't have to provide any information, I am still stressing a little and sending it all in. On this note, just wondering if I should provide updated documents? Our AOS package had bank statements through to May, do you think I should get printouts through to now? Also looking back at our original I130 package where we sent proof of our relationship, it stops at July 2013 - is it worth sending updated photos etc. to now? Australia is a low fraud country and I have been living here the entire time which they will know, but not sure if I should put together an addition to the original timeline and photos I sent or not. I will be attending the interview with my husband.

Feeling a little silly asking this, but any tips on what he should wear to the interview? He wouldn't turn up scruffily, I just don't know if jeans and a polo is acceptable or if he should wear suit trousers and a collared shirt. Of course with that decision comes the worry about what I will wear.... it's all too much!:D

Why bank statements? Did you qualify the Affidavit of Support with assets not income?

All that extra mess is so unnescessary. If you submitted it they have it. Now updated things like trips that happened during the process they don't have pics sure but replicate what they already have no,

You have like 2 to 30 minutes with CO they aren't going to pour over 3 years of emails and IM's and such they have what you submitted.

Now saying that for those who didn't submit NOTHING yes bring start to finish some evidence.

I wouldn't stress it unless you have Red flags in your marriage then you would need to bring some stuff.

A nice binder of some samples of everything would suffice for anyone.

He is going to the interview of his life. So dress to impress but be him and be comfortable also.

Meehan,

You don't need to bring updated bank statements - especially if you are comfortably above the poverty level for your family. Your I-130 was already approved - you do not need to add to it.

Nice jeans and a polo are fine. Julie wore black jeans and a nice blouse and casual jacket. I wore black knit slacks, a soft shirt and a shirt jacket. We interviewed at the same time as another family who wore blue jeans. We also saw an older couple who were in khaki slacks and casual shirts. There was ONE woman there who was fairly dressy - and she seemed out of place.

And honestly, you should have seen the AMERICANS who came in for American Citizen's Services! Totally scruffy!!!!

I love this :) my mom suggested we 'dress American' for the interview - jeans and bright white joggers! Somehow I don't think we'll be doing that ;)

Thanks for your response. I wasn't sure if I was being pedantic or not with the statements. I'm just not sure whether our AOS was accepted based on the original i864 I sent qualifying based on assets, or if it was accepted based on the joint sponsor i864 which I sent the next day after I panicked that they would want to see an income stream. In any case, won't worry about it now :)
