Thanks for pointing that out. A plausible explanation which applies to F2A applicants as well. I did notice in the spreadsheet that some (but not all) F2A interviews were scheduled a month after CC, while others followed the IR-1/CR-1 timeline.

Well that's because the Visa Bulletin was current up until about I believe May or June so all LPR's were just like any USC no wait. Then it retrogressed to May 2012. Now the September Bulletin is at Jan2013.

But your category is current. But as I said before have no idea how any slots your embassy has for your category. Hang in there.

Yes. F2A is expected to move further in Oct VB. Hope so.

Finally (after 10 business days) had a response back from the Sydney consulate - our interview is now on the 9th of September (brought forward from the 16th)

Gives us a bit of breathing space so we can fly as planned on the 23rd and we will still make it to see Outkast in Atlanta on the 27th. When we bought those tickets months ago we never considered that we would be cutting it this tight! I'm not sure whether my husband has been more stressed about packing our house up or the prospect of missing the concert.... men

The Consulate here received 4 deliveries in July and only one in August so far from NVC. It's not like they're overwhelmed with immigrants. Furthermore, non-IV interview slots are vacant beyond 1-3 weeks depending on the season.

Oh... well. Hopefully good news to all are on the way today (Friday).

How did you mange to get an earlier interview date? Did you have to send in a request to NVC or directly the embassy?

NVC said they had given us the only available time slot, so we emailed the consulate directly and they miraculously had one earlier. We didn't provide any reason up front as to why we wanted it sooner, but I think this can vary by consulate - I've seen others (London? I think? I may have that wrong) where a genuine reason was required.

Thank you. But yes you are right, High volume embassies like Mumbai don't really entertain any changes though.

You are not the only one. They have not started October round yet. I am guessing because of the long weekend. So next week would be the one.

Probably a stupid question, but is the Permanent Resident Number listed on my wife's ELIS form they gave her the same as her A-Number? Or is that different? Thanks!
