Update guys on my unbelievably horrible morning. I have just spent the past 4 hours on this. 1 hour of that was spent in floods of tears to my husband on Skye. I look a mess!!

Spoke to NVC about the IV checklist. They would not put me through to a Supervisor although Kendall, the girl I spoke to was very helpful. Will report as follows:

Birth Certificate - Hubby requested a Supervisor Review of this yesterday and they won't do anything until they look at it. I am adopted so only have an Adoption Decree. This was perfectly acceptable 14 years ago when I got my first Green Card but apparently not anymore. We also sent an original letter from the General Register Office in England explaining why I don't have a Birth Certificate but I suspect they have rejected it because it is not a 'Certified Statement'. Am trying to get hold of England and get this Statement.

Australia Police Clearance for Queensland - I have sent them a National Certificate that covers all 7 States but is that good enough for NVC - you bet your bottom dollar it is NOT! They want one for Queensland where I lived for 1 year 15 years ago. Spoke to Queensland Police - there were SO nice. They are just fed up with NVC for keep requesting people do this. They cannot do a fingerprint Certificate as I don't live in QLD but can do a Criminal Check Certificate so I am going to get that. NVC don't want to see this but are expecting me to have it at the interview. They think that QLD will send it direct to Consulate but they don't, they send it to me. I might then email Consulate and see if they want me to send it on.

Singapore Police Certificate - tried to explain to NVC that they don't send this to NVC anymore and the paperwork that NVC is totally out of date. That fell on deaf ears. So, I have applied for this, will wait for it to get to my house and will then send on to NVC.

By the time I wait for all my 60 days reviews I might be lucky to be there by Christmas but probably January.

I am just stunned with it all.

Have a great day everybody. Love XXX

Government inefficiency and incompetence at their worst!! Whenever my wife visits the government-centralized public cancer clinic she would wait for an hour or so even though all doctor's offices are manned with the doctors twiddling their thumbs in there. The reason? The employees managing the electronic registration and patients' case files show up extremely late and are not answerable to the clinic's medical management, even though they're there to facilitate the doctor's workload! But I digress...

As a parallel route to what you outlined, I would try to write a passionate letter to the (Sidney ?) Consulate explaining the whole situation:

a. NVC is working on outdated assumptions and giving grief to all applicants from Australia because of PCC issues.

b. NVC is clueless to adoption papers and is unfairly holding the case hostage.

c. Your case has been stuck at NVC past 4 months now with no expected resolution for possibly another 2 months.

Basically, have your lawyer help you draft a letter to invoke whatever is legally equivalent to a Lemon Law. Attach copies of all submitted documents and ask them to request NVC to forward your case as is to the Consulate.

It couldn't hurt... It might even work!

That may be a good tactic, to appeal directly to the Consulate in Sydney. I have emailed them before to ask questions and they typically get back to me in about 1-2 days. They may or may not be able to help, but they will at least get back to you and possibly can give you some direction about what you can do. Can't hurt to try, they just might be sympathetic. It's not like you are trying to bypass NVC, you have done your time. If an immigration lawyer can't submit the forms without checklists, there is something wrong here. Good luck, and I will continue to hope for this mess to get sorted out for you ASAP. xo

The email address I use for Sydney is SydneyIV@state.gov

I just sent my AOS package again on 8/6/2014 since I got a checklist for something MINOR.

Hopefully everything will be okay nowwwwww, I attached my 2013 tax transcript and put N/A on the tax year of 2012 and 2011 since I clicked the I filed in the last years box but will only attach the latest tax info.

I am really tired and sick of this process.

I know my IV package will be okay.

Can't wait to get a CC soon before I start growing gray hair.

Just spoke with JIM over at NVC and according to him they are working 10 hour shifts, including saturdays to reduce the processing time.

I think someone reported something similar a couple of months ago... -_-

Maybe they were just playing games at work since the processing time has dramatically increased...

I am definitely going to end up with a head full of gray hair soon.

Someone please clarify ASAP.

And if they have sent it then send another 1-864 right away with the correction so in case u get a checklist they have another package of urs a day apart. Good question! I don't know the right answer. I'm not helping here, am I?

However, if you send another application with "$0", they'll probably accept one of the applications since you've already sent your application with "N/A".

This will increase your chances of not getting another checklist.

I will just resend this again. I sent it VIA USPS it gets there in two days. I just checked it only says accepted, I don't think it has left NYC yet. Its there a way I can contact them to send back the package?
