Yes, processing times affects progress, but complaining about said processing times does NOT affect progress. Seems like 90% of this thread (which was created less than a week ago) has been about the same 60 day email everyone is getting.

Naturally it has thrown us into a bit of a tizz and we find comfort in talking to each other here.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Here is an article about the most recent problems that are leading to the biggest processing delays at the NVC this month: http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9249958/State_Dept._database_crash_leads_to_passport_visa_delays

There is now a backlog, and government officials "were working through it," said Harf. "We ask people to be patient."

SURE! like you werent BACKLOGGED SINCE LIKE FOREVER!!!!!

They should admit they are ALL lazy workers who ONLY care to do MINIMAL work each day, just to relax while working and extend their stay at whatever position they work at.

Yeah, I completely get that. I just feel like there should be a separate thread for talking about the ridiculous processing times instead of here.

Just my two cents though.

That only affects people waiting for a visa to be processed at an Embassy or consult, that has no affect on us at the NVC.

Not true. I got this information first from a friend who is a foreign service officer at the Department of State, who also is going through the immigration process. He told me me too that his application was being held up at the NVC because of a "massive systems failure."

Actually, they do get a good bit of work done when the focus resources on it. Although I am not saying these guys are a model work force, all the evidence indicates the Obama administration and their DACA amnesty for illegals is to blame. That is where the blame should lie.

But the problem was with the database used for issuing visas. Since we are not eligible for visas yet, how does this affect us?

"The Consular Consolidated Database, which holds tens of millions of visa cases and photographs, has been described by the government as one of the largest Oracle-based warehouses in the world." The database that they scan our applications into at the NVC (and eventually send to the embassy) crashed. So all of our files could not be scanned in and now they have just a limited ability to scan in the files.

Just got off the phone, JIM said they will be working overtime, including saturdays. Also said processing times HAVE NOT changed. Its just that people were getting confused w/ 30 business days, now they just say its 60 days total.

I dont know how much of it is true but he said another 2 weeks before I can expect anything(IV scan date july 9th)

Has anyone had to submit an apostille to each original document included in the IV packet? All my original docs are in Bulgarian, translated into English and certified, and the interview will be in Bulgaria. There will be no documents issued in a third country. I can't find any requirement, from NVC or Embassy specific, asking for an apostille, but word on the wire is that such is needed, or IV packet will be checklisted. Any one heard of this?

I submitted two of my IV documents wih Apostille. My marriage certificate is in spanish, its translated and also has apostille. I also have a South African police clearance certificate with Apostille. All other documents are from country of origin and in english so need for Apostille.

They should admit they are ALL lazy workers who ONLY care to do MINIMAL work each day, just to relax while working and extend their stay at whatever position they work at.

Ahhh, that's harsh. All evidence suggests that the NVC is VERY quota oriented and that workers are constantly pushed to review more cases. I don't think they are standing around the water cooler laughing as the files pile up around them. I think that they are busting their humps and being pushed by management to exceed quotas. There just isn't much you can do when volume doubles, triples and more. The solutions take at least a few months to implement. Stay positive, they will catch up soon just like USCIS did!!

I am the USC Petitioner. My wonderful wife Laura is from Scotland.

Sure they wlll catch up.But it will be over for us by than and will have NO value...Just like USCIS catching up actually CRIPPLING "OUR" processing times at NVC.

Personally, I am NOT grateful at all and infact UPSET that USCIS caught up. Because if they were JUST 1 more month delayed, I'd be done w/ NVC stage 2 months ago as I predicted total NVC process taking 4 months taking the statistics into account.

All I-130's should just be sent straight to the NVC, that would solve this whole problem. USCIS is worthless and involving them in the process only serves to slow it down. The NVC could hire double the number of people with all the I-130 money and could get the work done in half the time.
