NVC Filers - August 2014

It is currently taking the NVC 30-60 days from submission of the DS-261 to invoice the IV bill. Some are getting done quicker but a few people here waited nearly 60 days.

No I am just concerned why is it not into their system yet. does that too takes 30-60 days? I guess they scan form DS-261 in 2-7 days and then reviewing it further takes 30-60 days. Please correct me if I am wrong.

2-7 days is more like 2-7 weeks, haha. The DS-261 doesn't need to get scanned, I think it gets received and reviewed at the same step. I guess I don't know about that though ... I'm still waiting on that darn DS-261 to get touched!!! I'm excited to know more about it, haha.

A few of you mentioned that your AOS was "approved".

How do you find out if this is the case?

I spent the last hour waiting to be connected to NVC on my phone. When I finally connected, the lady there informed me that I had to wait 60 days for my documents to be reviewed.

She told me that my AOS documents had been 'accepted'. When asked if that means my AOS had been 'approved', she basically said that NVC only accepts documents. Approval is done by the embassy and that NVC has nothing to do with that.

I'm being a bit paranoid I just don't want to find out 60 days from now that the AOS documents had an error and they want me to resubmit...and start the 60 day process again.

I guess some of us use the word approved.{Am not an exception cos I use the word approved instead of accepted}. The embassy has the final approval. That means your AOS is good and accepted and ok by NVC.

Don't worry, they don't seem to be on July 18th for reviewing DS-261s yet. Our date is the 21st and we are expecting it be reviewed by the end of next week.

My Ds-261 was accepted on June 4th and I still haven't received an IV invoice. I called today and they sent it to a supervisor for review because it's been over 60 days. I hope yours is soon!

Haha ok Maybe I will try that approach.

On top of that there were a few members that had completed it in July that saw their invoice. There definitely seems to be some skipping around of dates. sad face for sure.

I'm wondering if the police certificate ever expires.... if this 60 days continues, by the time the case is complete, police certificate will be outdated....

my husband's police certificate was issued on 6/16/2014... if he has interview in 4 months (count from today) December?...i'm thinking December should be latest...but never know.. that's half year already..

any idea?
