I have been trying to get hold of our lawyer all day today to no avail. Hubby called NVC this morning but I am going to call tomorrow and see if I can speak to a Supervisor. Is it easy to get a Supervisor? Should I say something specific to make sure they put me through.

Sorry to hear that you got a checklist on the IV package. :(

I've talked to a supervisor four times. All I had to do was ask for a supervisor after talking with an NVC rep. :star:

Of course, I can be assertive and argumentative on the phone so that may have helped (But...I'm usually nice 'n' friendly). :content:

If a rep refuses to transfer your call to a supervisor, you can always hung up and call them back to talk to a different rep. Fingers crossed!

Hi AustinCanada

Thanks for that. I will call them in the morning and, like you, I am normally really nice but don't make me mad as I can go with the best of them! I am on a short fuse with NVC so let's hope I don't get Arthur. To be honest, if I got him I would probably hang up and try again anyway.

Will let you know how I go tomorrow.

Hi all,

I am devastated. I received an IV Checklist this morning. Good news for all of you I did receive the 60 day email yesterday for the IV documents but they were reviewed less than 24 hours later.

Items checklisted for were:

Singapore Police Certificate - Expected although the information they have sent me is WAY out of date. It says they send the Certificate to NVC and they don't - they send it to me. I am going to see if I can take to interview but I suspect not.

Birth Certificate - already sent. I am adopted and I only have one Certificate. It is a long version, we sent them the original plus a copy. We also sent them a letter from the Registry from UK stating what an Adoption Certificate is. It is the same one I used last time to get my Green Card. Will talk to them about this tomorrow.

Australian Police Certificate - I live in South Australia and when you get one from here it is for the whole of Australia. They want one from NSW, where I have never lived and QLD where I lived for a year but this is included in the Federal one I have sent them. I seem to remember Sukie having trouble with this.

I have been trying to get hold of our lawyer all day today to no avail. Hubby called NVC this morning but I am going to call tomorrow and see if I can speak to a Supervisor. Is it easy to get a Supervisor? Should I say something specific to make sure they put me through.

Any help?

Oh no, I am soooo sorry to read this  I hope you can get talk some sense into a supervisor. I can't believe they have asked for separate police checks for other states. I am in Victoria and I got the national name check and was fine.

This is beyond a joke. Hang in there. Can you call tonight our time when they open so you can get an answer before you go to bed and not have to toss and turn all night?

Am I reading it right and you got a Case Complete? If so, no one else cottoned on it seems!! Checklist and Forward! I hope they'll do that to everyone from now on.

Congrats and poo on you for the too subtle and timid announcement.

Think they had a checklist before. You get two tries, then the third one it's conditional case complete and they ask you to have a new one at interview to bring.

Attn: DR is for the IV package, you can include the same barcode cover for both but for the IV package, it needs to be sent to DR.

This freaks me out.

My barcode cover sheet FOR the IV package documents said "Attn: CMR" on it for where to mail. So, I mailed them (the IV civil docs) Attn: CMR. I also noticed Saylin's example cover letter for hte IV docs used Attn: CMR. I mailed out IV documents on their own (not with an AOS package)

How screwed am I that it went to Attn CMR? This is a bit distressing in the current NVC environment. :(

Hi Amanda

I came home tonight and was eager to look through VJ to see if you had heard but I guess not yet.

Lawyer just called and she is really mad with NVC. They have everything they need for the Birth Certificate and Aussie Clearance. She thinks they just haven't read through everything properly. I am going to call in morning not tonight as I am fresher plus kids are at school. Will let you know how I go. I am definitely going to ask for a Supervisor and try and get this mess cleared up.

I'm so sorry to hear that :(. Ask for a supervisor, but ask for one that will look into it and e-mail you back. Try Syliva. She might be able to help you the most. Nothing for me today. I have been checking ceac at regular obsessive intervals and nothing. I know it will be any day since I had the same scan date as you.

I will be eager to hear that you get a supervisor to clear your bogus checklist. I hope you get a nice supervisor who will do their job and review it properly. Keep us posted!

I just received NVC letter telling me my Case Number and everything (sent on July 11th) via Post and the stamp was French... My consulate is Frankfurt Germany. I was wondering if it was ok or they just cannot decide where I will have my interview. NVC always tells us they sent everything to Frankfurt. (expedite). The consulate tells us that they haven't receive anything yet and even started to ask me where I live!

Should I be worried? or France is actually a Western Europe postmail center for NVC ?

just to be sure: FRN is for Frankfurt?

They are confusing me for nothing now. At least they got my address right, for which I was very happily surprised. One good point for them.

You should be fine. It does say Attn CMR on there. Attn DR is only used for checklist documents.

Question...I keep reading that once you get your NOA2 hard copy to start calling NVC for case number etc . I have called two times and bot times I was told that YES they have my case but no there is not a case number yet and to call 30 days after NOA2 . I was told that calling within 1 or 2 weeks is too early ! Sooooo do I still keep calling every few days until I get a case number or what ? Both operators told me that it is taking the 30 days right now to enter case numbers.
