Hi Saylin,

Just an observation, I was going thru the nvc wiki and under the icon of How to Find Out WHEN Your Case Number was Assigned. I think The next three numbers are the Julian date it was assigned, MINUS 500. Because I calculated mine by subtracting the Julian date it was assigned Minus the 500 and I got the correct date my case number was assigned. attachicon.gifvScreenshot_1407258460783.jpgattachicon.gifvScreenshot_1407258460783.jpg

I wrote it correctly. I said the next three numbers was the Julian date plus 500. I'm explaining what the RESULT is, so 315 + 500 = 815.

If you want to work backwards to calculate the date the case number was assigned, then yes, it's minus 500, but that's not how I worded it.

60 day email today. I'll call later, but my guess is nothing actually happened. way too early. But the good news is, the date on the letter is July 22 and they told me July 23. Saylin, do you want us to update the new spreadsheet with the dates from our letters? I realize that I only want to do this because I like my new date better. Others may want to ignore this!

Please call and confirm that earlier date before submitting an update. I thought I had read here a lot of people's dates were off by a few days, so it may be the case with you as well. So, see what NVC has in their system first (even though this new date is nicer as it's earlier :P )

I wonder how they picked and chose certain cases with the petitioner living abroad to be auto-expedited because I am NOT one of the ones that was picked. Hmmmm....

(this is not an attack against you, just me thinking/venting out loud)

Because all of those in 2013 got stuck in the backlog and they weren't auto-expediting those abroad due to it.

Hey guys...

So..I got the "60 day" email as well.

I randomly looked at CEAC to see if there is any progress on my case...

Man no kidding! What I wouldn't give to know the answer to that. If there was an actually line, black and white, it would be so much easier to deal with. You send it in, you wait your turn, you get your chance, done. I feel like a fish in a barrel.

How did you do your own calculations?

Because based on the example Saylin gave:

815-500=315 which is the 11th of November

When I did my own calculation which is:

643-500=143 which is 23rd May and that was when my case number was assigned.

You should check the next 3 figures after 2014 and subtract 500, you will get the date your case number was assigned.

Yeah I realized it worked both ways. She just means it's the Julian Date + 500. If you subtract 500 then you'll figure out what your Julian Date is. So both ways are correct.

Also, your signature says April 24 for your case number, that's why I got confused. You should update it to May.

Yea I calculated it backwards. I just hope my brain is not working backwards with this NVC long process.

Hi to all, My husband and I both received the same 60 day email everyone else got yesterday but I as agent also received this one...,

We received Xxxxxx Choice of Address and Agent form. The next step is to pay the immigrant visa application fee. We will send an invoice to the designated agent after the form is processed.

What does this mean??????

Has anyone received this yet?

I got that email on June 17th. I submitted the DS-261 on May 30th and still have no invoice, so I don't think that email means anything is imminent, unfortunately :(

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I am expecting a checklist for IV civil documents. I have not sent the original birth certificate. My bad. Called NVC, then the operator said either original or a certified copy and said also, better wait to see untill the docs are reviewed. The NVC site says originbal document, but the operator says either original or certifiled one. Which one I should beleive? Do I need to really send the original/certified now or wait till they review it?

Appreciate for all the answers.

Those checklists are probably for notarised copies, not certified.

October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp

I wrote it correctly. I said the next three numbers was the Julian date plus 500. I'm explaining what the RESULT is, so 315 + 500 = 815.

If you want to work backwards to calculate the date the case number was assigned, then yes, it's minus 500, but that's not how I worded it.

Yea I calculated it backwards. I just hope my brain is not working backwards with this NVC long process.
