So I write DR and IV package on the envelop, nothing more and I send the both packages in separate envelopes! P.S. what DR is? Thank you Romij :)

This is what I got from the website for the IV Package address:

Mail your forms and documents with your Document Cover Sheet to the following address:

National Visa Center

Attn: DR

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

Also, I called up NVC and spoke with this lady who mentioned that I could use the AOS cover sheet and send in my IV documents but just to make sure I use the address above. Which is what I have done.

I have seen a couple ppl doing it as getting lucky. And honestly speaking I think if the operators and supervisors are both saying it's ok to do it so if should be ok. Although it wouldn't shave off ur 60 days waiting time becasue ds260 will be available after ur IV invoice changes to paid and ds260 will be reviewed in the same 60 or 30 biz days after submission. But one benefit of doing this is that in case u get a checklist on IV u can just correct it right away and not waste additional 60 days. Rest is ur choice Ofcourse. Ppl here say it's too much risk to take considering IV package includes original documents so it's ur choice what u find safer to do.

we paid aos bill last july9 and sent the aos package as soon as the bar coded sheet was available online. question is should we send the iv package now even if we haven't paid for it yet since there is no invoice, or should we first wait to pay iv fee, have the bar coded sheet printed and sent with documents? thanks for your kind reply

I called NVC and asked them the same thing, the lady on the phone said I could send in my documents for IV package and use the AOS cover sheet. She just said to send it to the following address

National Visa Center

Attn: DR

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

Hi all,

Just wanted to see whats the recent timeframe to get AOS fee invoice. I checked CEAC website on Friday (8/1) DS 261 was available so I submitted it. Now when I logon to 'fee payment' portal, status still displays "this case is in the process of termination". By the way, I didn't receive any email from NVC notifying me DS261 is available.

Thanks,

Hi Saylin,

Just an observation, I was going thru the nvc wiki and under the icon of How to Find Out WHEN Your Case Number was Assigned. I think The next three numbers are the Julian date it was assigned, MINUS 500. Because I calculated mine by subtracting the Julian date it was assigned Minus the 500 and I got the correct date my case number was assigned. post-183677-0-27320900-1407259046_thumb.jpgpost-183677-0-27320900-1407259046_thumb.jpg

SO I was reading that the USCIS is approving some petitions in a months time. That is probably one of the reason the NVC is flooded with new approvals....

YES most definitely , I know I was really lucky because my petition was approved in 17 days. It hurts to see how long others have had to wait.

I was also approved in less than a month as part of the group of petitioners living abroad whose petitions got auto-expedited. My heart aches for those who were caught in both backlogs. I can't imagine how awful that must be. They should be processed at NVC before us. It's not fair. Whatever reorganization is going on at USCIS is contributing to the problems at NVC. This is exactly why this process shouldn't be split between two offices. They clearly don't work together on anything.

YEP DvMan hard to read the complaints of people who got their USCIS approvals in a month or 2 and then complain about the NVC.

I could be mistaken, but I believe you have made several comments of this nature already. We get it. This is the only place I can come and vent where people understand, so I'm not going to stop posting in the NVC filer threads. Everyone's situation is different and I was under the impression that we were all here to support each other. My husband and I were actually screwed by our quick USCIS approval in a variety of ways, since we obviously didn't plan on it. We planned on it taking between five and nine months, and had planned our lives accordingly. Some process-specific problems we've had are detailed in my signature, but other problems of a more personal nature are not. I won't act like the quick approval wasn't an extremely pleasant surprise, but it has since seriously ####### e d with our lives. So scroll on past if you have to, but I'm not going anywhere.

I wonder how they picked and chose certain cases with the petitioner living abroad to be auto-expedited because I am NOT one of the ones that was picked. Hmmmm....

Edit: If your case was assigned April 24, your three numbers would be 615. But NVC received your case on April 30th so it doesn't make sense for them to give you a case number before they looked at your case.

Saylin, do you want us to update the new spreadsheet with the dates from our letters? I realize that I only want to do this because I like my new date better. Others may want to ignore this!

How did you do your own calculations?

Because based on the example Saylin gave:

815-500=315 which is the 11th of November

When I did my own calculation which is:

643-500=143 which is 23rd May and that was when my case number was assigned.

You should check the next 3 figures after 2014 and subtract 500, you will get the date your case number was assigned.

Just got off the phone with the NVC and they finally recieved my petition and then told me to call back in 30 business days for my NVC number and IIN. I cant beleive it would take them that long to get my petition in there system. I will call them everyday again starting next week.
