So, it seems to me that it is any action on a case that is prompting the 60 day email to go out. Plenty of people are getting the 60 day email right before there case complete, right before getting their IV invoice and at the same time as getting docs scanned in. Still others seem to be getting the 60 day email as part of mass mailings.

I do think it's clear though that it is a general email and doesn't mean they are actually going to sit on your docs for 60 days. Just that it could take 60 days to get to them.

From looking at other posts it will be a few days to a week. The best thing to do is call today and confirm. Not that it changes anything, but peace of mind, you know.

We haven't had this email yet so we are still waiting for it.

What a great day for you!! That means you could be as little as 60 days or less from a case complete!!! Assuming of course that you are ready to send those civil docs right away.

Nordic Tim, are you serious? OMG do you know how long it will be? Woohoooooo?????

I realize priority date doesn't apply to IR-1 cases, but what's going on seems like a case for using it.

So, a series of short apprivals at uscis, and that sets the rest of us--who waited for months at uscis--back 60+ days because of the influx?

In true VJ fashion, I propose (ta da) a bureaucratic solution.

1. Nvc gets mail. Mail folks open the mail.

2. Any mail with a barcode gets scanned immediately and placed in a queue generally according to PD associated with that scan. (With some room for non exactness but in general "similar timeline" groupings). Processed based on USCIS PD.

3.Anything without a scan (aka a new case sent to NVc) gets put into a several month (or geez, at least a few weeks) wait IF that uscis PD is from the last 1-4 months and not an expedite case.

I'm sure there's holes in my plan, including the theory that under this plan the overall timeframe will NEVER improve, but I have nothing better to do on a Tuesday night than muse about "improving" NVC ;)

I soo wish that Nvc worked according to Uscis pd! Things are looking so so unfair lately I feel like crying and hopeless! This is so unfair that I wait 10.5 at Uscis and come here hoping for cc in 2 months and after 4 months I m still here for atleast another month. And ppl who get approved in a month or two are put in the same queue as me. I wish I could just make a complain to Nvc but even that would take 60 days for them to read it

CALLING BDREW!!!

Can you tell me if we can go ahead with our medical before the case complete? If the medical is good for 6 months then we are comfortable scheduling it for a few months from now, we should be close to a CC then and we'll both be in London on our way to Belgium for our much needed time together.

Thank you!!

It's not recommended to complete the medical prior to your case arriving in London after interview assignment. You want your documents to already be there because Knightsbridge forwards your results directly. Having a case to match them to minimizes chances of things getting misplaced. Also remember that you have to enter the US within 6 months of your medical date or have another medical performed, as it has to be valid at POE.

I have seen a couple ppl doing it as getting lucky. And honestly speaking I think if the operators and supervisors are both saying it's ok to do it so if should be ok. Although it wouldn't shave off ur 60 days waiting time becasue ds260 will be available after ur IV invoice changes to paid and ds260 will be reviewed in the same 60 or 30 biz days after submission. But one benefit of doing this is that in case u get a checklist on IV u can just correct it right away and not waste additional 60 days. Rest is ur choice Ofcourse. Ppl here say it's too much risk to take considering IV package includes original documents so it's ur choice what u find safer to do.

I'm wanting to continue flogging a deceased equine here ... Please share opinions and stories about submitting the IV package before it was invoiced.

Can we really send that package in, change the AoS cover sheet so that it goes to the right place?

Is there any other benchmark we should wait for before sending it?

Using this practice people could possibly shave 60+ days off the wait time by sending in the civil docs a full 60 days earlier.

Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions??

I'm wondering the very same thing. Anyone care to share their experiences? Thoughts?

To me, the idea of shaving off any amount of time from the NVC process is worth considering.

Daaaaaang I heard you from Minnesota!

I do not ever recommend getting a medical before Case Complete! You never know what can happen with these jokers!

Edit: Knightsbridge isn't backed up with scheduling either, my husband's medical was a week after he scheduled it, so there's really no point in rushing.

Ahhh, so we would want to schedule it far enough out to have a chance of the case being in London. Hmmm, too much uncertainty there. We'll just wait until we know and she'll get the pleasure of going to London again!! At least by then we should have enough Avios to get at least one of the flights courtesy of BA!!
