NVC Filers - August 2014

I realize priority date doesn't apply to IR-1 cases, but what's going on seems like a case for using it.

So, a series of short apprivals at uscis, and that sets the rest of us--who waited for months at uscis--back 60+ days because of the influx?

In true VJ fashion, I propose (ta da) a bureaucratic solution.

1. Nvc gets mail. Mail folks open the mail.

2. Any mail with a barcode gets scanned immediately and placed in a queue generally according to PD associated with that scan. (With some room for non exactness but in general "similar timeline" groupings). Processed based on USCIS PD.

3.Anything without a scan (aka a new case sent to NVc) gets put into a several month (or geez, at least a few weeks) wait IF that uscis PD is from the last 1-4 months and not an expedite case.

I'm sure there's holes in my plan, including the theory that under this plan the overall timeframe will NEVER improve, but I have nothing better to do on a Tuesday night than muse about "improving" NVC

Hi everyone, I paid the AOS fee on August 4th and I`m trying to complete both packages and send them together!

I've heard that on one of the packages I have to write DR on the envelope. What does mean? Which package should I write on? Is it better choice if I sent them together in separate envelopes and put copy of the bar coded cover sheet on each? What do you recommend?

Attn: DR is for the IV package, you can include the same barcode cover for both but for the IV package, it needs to be sent to DR.

This is great news especially after receiving the 60 day email from NVC today... So close to being done. My IV packet was scanned on the 28th of July so I am really hoping this 60 day email won't make a big delay... Thanks for your response!

Hi to all, My husband and I both received the same 60 day email everyone else got yesterday but I as agent also received this one...,

We received Xxxxxx Choice of Address and Agent form. The next step is to pay the immigrant visa application fee. We will send an invoice to the designated agent after the form is processed.

What does this mean??????

I'm wanting to continue flogging a deceased equine here ... Please share opinions and stories about submitting the IV package before it was invoiced.

Can we really send that package in, change the AoS cover sheet so that it goes to the right place?

Is there any other benchmark we should wait for before sending it?

Using this practice people could possibly shave 60+ days off the wait time by sending in the civil docs a full 60 days earlier.

Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions??

Hey everyone. I haven't posted in like 2 months. We got a checklist for a police certificate so it set us back a while. We plan on sending in our checklist next week. How long is it taking for them to review checklists lately?

Sorry to hear that you got a checklist. Did you include your original police certificate?

We've seen two checklist cases getting reviewed in 1-3 weeks, but they both had a lawyer.

If you don't have a lawyer, NVC will most likely review your checklist document in 45-60 calender days, unfortunately.

I'm wondering the very same thing. Anyone care to share their experiences? Thoughts?

To me, the idea of shaving off any amount of time from the NVC process is worth considering.
