If anyone wants to read the posts about the couple http://forum.virtualtourist.com/Gaza_Strip-3142-3-10246942/How-to-travel-gaza.html?showPost=10660206

I did send him two links to humanitarian organizations for Palestine but it doesn't seem like enough. :(

if the NVC requires the police certificate then YES, you will get checklisted.

What more are you looking for? You already know there is a huge backlog. They sent a letter with an explanation. They were bombarded with approvals from the USCIS. I really don't think there is any more to tell. They process mail in the order it was received. They have a ton more mail to go threw. Its a waiting game. I feel bad for everyone. This process sucks.

Yes I do know there is a backlog. The backlog doesn't explain why our DS-261 that we submitted on May 30th hasn't been reviewed, but someone else's that was submitted on June 20th has been. Even our AOS has been reviewed already and that was scanned in on something like June 16th.

I would say most people who submitted the DS-261 after us have their IV invoice now. I don't think the majority of us have been waiting two months for this thing. If it was everybody in May/early June that is still waiting, then I would understand and not keep pestering NVC. As it is, we've stopped pestering because we've all but given up. If they want to take another 60 days to look at it then what can we do? Nothing. It's still frustrating though to watch everyone else who filed the DS-261 after us wait for their case complete while we're still stuck on the IV invoice.

ETA: I never received the email everyone has been talking about so had I not been coming here every day, I'd have no idea.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I completely understand how you feel. I watched everyone get approved before me when I was waiting for my I-130. I think I was 1 of 3 left on the APRIL 2013 thread while everyone else was forwarded to the NVC. When I was finally approved, alot of those people were still at the NVC. I have no idea what is going on at the NVC. Some are still here.

And yes, remember VJ is a tiny speck compared to the total amount of actual cases at the NVC. I feel bad for people who are NOT on this thread because being here provides info you can't get from calling. We see the trends. NON-VJers are forced to believe the lies.

Oh yeah, I forgot :( you waited forever. I'm glad NVC fast-tracked you. You have a waiver to deal with too. I hope that gets processed in a sensible amount of time, you've waited long enough.

Someone on one of the Facebook groups I subscribe to got his IV fee invoice yesterday (automated email, NOT someone was working overtime at the NVC office on Saturday and pressed the "Send" button, just to be clear). He filled out the DS-261 on June 23rd. :wow:

We contacted our congresswoman last week and had no response yet. I don't know what the normal amount of time is to get a response so we're still waiting for that. Meanwhile, I asked my husband to also contact his senators and he did that today (I hope, he was worried about annoying them lol).

Pressuring DOS/NVC can lead to results: Hire more staff... contract a competing agency... delegate document collection to consulates temporarily... checklist and forward... fast-track K3 visas... dedicate some centers to handle specific categories similar to KCC & Diversity Visa applicants ... etc.

I agree with u. Anything that can even give us hope at this stage is good. Most likely it won't help us and help the people after us like Uscis but whatever. If there is a campaign I m in.

Maybe but probably not. The letter went out to buy time. I guess they are hoping to get a handle on it.

I know USCIS is different than the NVC but I wrote countess letters while at the TSC, I joined in the VJ campaign and sent letters to all the addresses they provided PLUS local news and congressional offices and more multiple times.. My file sat for 11 months and 6 days. I was in contact with Senator Toomey's office twice a week. Phone calls and emails. They were very good about getting a response for me and forwarded a new one every week. I sent an email EVERYDAY during the last two weeks. I don't think that did one bit of good. The day I was approved was the day they updated the processing times to 5 months. That is when the backlog began. March 18, 2013. They are aware of the backlog and that is what the letter was explaining. The congressional offices are going to get the same answers and just forward the form letters. Yes, they have a direct line but I think the answer they will get will be the 60 day answer that was in the letter. They probably won't forward the K3's because of the computer crash and not being able to issue visa's ( non-immigrant in particular)

as far as dedicating other depts. to work on certain visas.... That is that happened when all the files sat at the NBC ( mine sat for 8 months before they transferred our file to the TSC , who also gave us the 60day BS.... and it took twice that)

I don't see them fixing this for another few months... probably by telling the USCIS to slow down.....

The DACA renewals are coming very soon... so I am sure the USCIS will start slowing down again......

I m sorry lovemytico but if God forbid u had gotten stuck here would u have just waited with hands over hands? No u would have done everything to ur power to try and speed it up. I know what u r saying is correct but we are all friends here and I think support is more important right now then reality. By the way guys I saw on the Facebook page that someone who had tried sending their IV documents before paying the fee with AOS cover letter got their case completed without issue! So I think this might actually work ;) specially if they are taking 60 days now for reviewing then really no one needs a checklist after 120 days!!

I was stuck at the Uscis. I had to face reality. You can be nasty all you want. I was pointing out that what they say is probably bs. If you only want to hear good things and live in fantasy land.... Maybe a trip to Disney world would benefit you. All the letters in the world are not going to make them pick up a specific file and process it . nothing is fair in this world. I am sure I don't have to say that more than once. I went through 11 months of pain just waiting for an approval. At least you have a phone number to call and get a person on the other end. The USCIS doesn't have that. I would bet a paycheck you will get the exact same response from the senators office that was in that letter from the NVC.

Take a look at LoveMyTico's time line, she was stuck at USCIS way longer than people are stuck at NVC. Part of being supportive is giving people the truth, even if that's not what you want to hear. I think it's horrible what's happened at NVC lately, but sugar coating it and filling people with false hope helps no one.

I know how long it took for her and I think it just took 15 days less for me. But after that to be stuck at Nvc again is really really painful. And I do respect her a lot because she did everything she could do at that stage to hear something. Emailed the senator twice a day even and called ucsis and congressman like crazy. She used to get the same response yet she kept trying and I was one of the happiest people at her approval. So that's y I m surprised that she would discourage someone from trying. I didn't mean sugarcoat it. But don't discourage. That's all what I meant.

Ok I don't want to argue with u.

got a checklist on 31st july (last scan date 17th june) to send original marriage & birth cert. we had sent notarized copies which is not enough apparently. Grrrr ........ :(

No, it's not :( you need to get certified copies directly from the official body that would have produced/stored your original i.e. the court house the marriage was registered in. The certified copies come with a judge's/clerk's signature and have an embossed seal on and may look like they were produced on Microsoft Word by a five year old if you're lucky like us :P

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out
