Yes I don't think we would wait more than Tuesday. It's just so so stupid to send false checklist right away and make us wait for real one after issuing it after 50 frigging days Urghhh. Nvc is a mad house.

Their method of operation never stop to baffle me. I think mad is an understatement. NVC is worst than a mad house.

I agree, they should rectify this by reviewing your AOS right away, they need a special department for that if they don't have it already. Just upsetting and stupid, doesn't justify the fee I'll tell you that. :( SOB's. (F) (L) (F)

Thankyou fr the wishes! After how long did u receive the email? I was checklisted Thursday. and still haven't recieved any email from them. 2 precious are already lost. Should I wait fr it or just send the correction with AOS cover sheet? I don't know why I think that with AOS cover sheet they longer time and with checklist cover sheet maybe shorter :|

I'm not sure exactly how long it took because I wasn't calling every day... If I remember correctly I called on a Friday, and they hadn't reviewed the AOS yet, then I didn't call and I got the checklist e-mail on a Wednesday... So maybe 2 days? The same time frame happened with the false checklist I got on the IV docs last week-- I called Friday, was told it hadn't been reviewed, and then the e-mail came on Wednesday. So I would guess you would have your e-mail on Tuesday, but I don't know for sure. My false checklist for the AOS checklist response did say "once you have submitted those documents, please allow 30 business days for processing" even though other communications from NVC have said "60 days" so MAYBE they are trying to address checklist responses faster? Does anyone else have any experience with this?

In my case, the checklist e-mail was a little confusing, because we are using my father as a joint sponsor, and they put his name on everything, but when I called I was told that they were actually requesting information from me (primary sponsor) as well... so I think it's good to wait till it comes, as that way you can respond to exactly what they ask for, and call and talk to an agent if you have any doubts. Although Soloenta has a point that early in process if you know something is wrong sending a correction preemptively might save a lot of time... but in your case it's probably only another day or so to do it the "official" way....

If your sponsor is sending documents in the US, USPS has an overnight option that only costs $20... I recommend it.

Good luck!

Awwwww so very sorry to know this, I think it's a good idea after you send the originals in to get another set if possible I know it's a pain but it will save ton's of time if they are lost. Wish my poor husband had time to get a second set of original documents. :( Good luck to you and let's all pray that NVC speeds up, miracles do happen. :) (F)(L)(F)

Later my spuse (I am the petitiner) came to know that it is possible to get originals again. However waiting is inevitable. Thinking of your case, from when and where yours started, we say "Praise to God Almighty". With regard to praying, I ask and pray in my prostration all the time.

Yes that 30 biz days quote is the only thing that's giving me hope that they might review it faster. And about the mistakes yes I also thought it's better to wait for the email but since the operator and the supervisor both confirmed the same thing so I think that is the only mistake. I know, it messes up my count-down on the 30 business days too... but everyone NOT waiting for a visa is enjoying it for sure...

Yeah, it's probably the only thing that needs to be addressed, if they told you so on the telephone... but it still might be worth waiting a day or so for the cover sheet... I think it should come Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. If not, you should call them.

Today, we told our 5 year old that daddy is leaving at the end of September. She has been clinging to him all day and then tonight (in the cutest voice ever) said: "daddy, I wish you wouldn't leave. I love you so so much".

She then asked him why and when he told her that he needs to get a job in the US again, she asked "why can't you work here?". When he told her that he's not allowed (since his spouse visa was denied), she was so confused and wouldn't stop asking questions.

1. my heart is breaking and I don't know how i'm going to cope seeing her miss him so much; and

2. I think her confusion and questioning regarding the visa process sums up how ridiculous the notion of immigration is, in both the US and UK.

When DH gets back from America, hopefully next week with all of our "re-establishing residency" documentation, and i-864 from our co-sponsor we'll be submitting everything. I'm trying to decide whether we should do EP (which I'm leaning towards) or snail mail which people seem to prefer on here. Is there really a big difference in the processing times?

I see a lot of talk the last couple of months about sending in the IV package before being invoiced or completing the DS-260. Does anyone know how to do this if you're doing EP? If the 30 business days is true we're looking at Sept.23rd, and if 60 days is true than we're looking at October 10th for the IV fee to be unlocked. If I can shave even a couple weeks off of our case complete time, that would be awesome.

It sucks that we will just miss the cut off for the new fees. How does it make sense to charge more for something that is taking four times as long?

Hi,

We are going EP. We sent our civil documents on Friday the 29th. I had been told on the phone that it was fine to e-mail them before the IV fee was paid.

Regarding sending civil/ IV documents before IV fee is available for payment- did you scan and email the bar-coded sheet from AOS payment along with the civil documents?

Also- are we still required to do opt-in email for EP?

Someone should read the EP wiki I wrote (linked in my signature below) ;)

Bar-coded cover sheets aren't needed for EP  And no more opt-ins
