My biggest fear and the one that doesn't let me sleep and makes me feel physically sick while I'm awake. I have no peace. :(

If it happens... it happens. And when it does, it's only for a few weeks for most. If you can survive NVC, you'll sail through anything in the overall visa journey.

Usually, there are good solid reasons for very extended APs, and I doubt your case has any of those.

NVC's email has explicitly stated that "The US Embassy or Consulate is willing to expedite this case once we have all the fees, forms, and documents. We received documents for your case. Please allow 60 days for us to review your documents." This is a direct quote from the email I received on August 15.

The rep refuses to let my husband talk to the supervisor. Do you think contacting the embassy will do any good here? Thanks again. I added my timeline in the signature.

If the wording is exact as received from the embassy, then it only refers to collecting fees and forms and doesn't refer to form/document reviews. Keep trying to get to a supervisor and argue this point.

In the mean time, collect proof of submission of all fees/forms/documents to NVC and contact the embassy with all attached, arguing the same point. Conclude with pointing out that NVC is gutting their expedite decision with their misinterpretation and that the NVC review process currently takes 2-4 months after all fees/forms/documents are submitted. Maybe the embassy doesn't realize how backlogged NVC is.

This is weird, because I'm pretty sure other expedites we've seen have just been sent straight to the embassies, even if there is stuff pending review. They just warned the beneficiaries they'd have to take the un-reviewed items to the interview themselves since NVC would take a while to mail it back to them.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

 

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

 

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Exactly! My husband and I have told that to NVC many times, and their response is that they cannot sort through thousands of mail that get every day and that we should be more appreciative of them working overtime to process all the cases. I will call the embassy on Tuesday (once they are all done with their Labor Day weekend), and try to convince them to do something, but I am not very hopeful... Thanks everybody for the advice and good wishes!

My timeline for NVC processing:

May 4, 2014 Submitted DS261

May 7, 2014 Paid AOS fee

May 12, 2014 Received an email confirming that my DS261 (agent registration) form has been processed

May 15, 2014 Paid IV fee

Last scan date: July 22, 2014 NVC received my IV and AOS packages (mailed together), date confirmed in the email on Aug 5, which also told me that it will take at least 60 days to process

July 25, 2014: Submitted DS260

August 6, 2014 Requested an expedite

August 8, 2014 Got an email from NVCExpedite asking for two phone numbers

August 8, 2014 Responded with two phone numbers

August 15, 2014 Received an email from NVCExpedite which states: "The US Embassy or Consulate is willing to expedite this case once we have all the fees, forms, and documents. We received documents for your case. Please allow 60 days for us to review your documents."

August 15, 2014 Called NVC, the rep told my husband that while the Embassy has agreed to expedite my case, NVC will still take at least 60 days. The reason that NVC cannot do it any faster is because they cannot sort through all the mail to locate my case.

September 16, 2014 Got a checklist for a divorce decree, the original of which I submitted. They said it needs to have a stamp, even though it was issued by a US judge, whose office confirmed that their original decrees do not have stamps. [/background][/size][/font][/color]

September 29, 2014 Mailed a copy of the decree with a certification and stamp attached to it. The judge's office in Lancaster county, Nebraska, said that this is how they certify their documents. They still do not put stamps on originals or copies themselves.

October 2, 2014 Checklist scan date

October 17, 2014 AOS fee changed from "paid" to N/A

October 20, 2014 Case complete confirmed by calling NVC.

i have sent a reply to our checklist and nvc received it on july 8,how will i know if i get a case complete?do i need to contact nvc everyday to know the update?

People with scan dates of July 11 have got case complete. Call NVC to know about your checklist status. You will get a case complete email one week after case completion. I think you may have a case complete and not know about it.

 

 

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.

Do any of you guys remember who the VJ member was that was always talking about how depressed they were? I'm not sure why I've started worrying about this, but I know we haven't heard anything in awhile and I just don't know if it's because they've moved on or just stopped coming onto the forums. I tried to look back through the threads for the last couple months but there are just so many posts and I don't remember the last one I remember seeing from that member.

It most likely means u have a case complete :) when was ur AOS and IV scanned?

Aos on July 8 and iv on July 11, they told me they didn't even open the Iv package yet. And they sent me the same checklist again which was for pcc tht was scanned on the 11th.

As long as that magical n/a is there u don't have anything to worry about ;) call them Tuesday and u will have the good news iA

I got a lot of question so please bare with me,

I've paid the AOS fees and today its marked as 'paid' now how long will i have to wait til i can pay the 'IV fee".

I already did my d-261 online how long will that take til NVC folks accept and review it?

Also, when will D-260 will be come available.

My case will probably got delayed since they got the embassy code mixed up, im assigned to embassy in Thailand even though we are living in Japan (i have no clue how they managed to mix it up when i send my husband military orders which clearly stated that I'm living with him in Japan). I have called and the operator told me to make a request to change consular by email with evidence by email which i did. But Anyone know how long thats going to take for them to change the consular?

This has happened to a few other people, including us. In our case it took nearly 2 months for them to change the embassy. That seems to be what it took in the other cases I know of.

You already got the only advantage your lawyer could get you (DS-261 bypassed, a huge advantage by the way), apart from legal advice to you. From now on, you fall in step with everyone else. Plan on 6-8 weeks of NVC foot dragging, maybe more.

In fact, your lawyer could cost you more time if he/she is not extra careful in filling the forms and submitting the documents. Study thoroughly Post #1 of this thread and insist on scrutinizing every bit of correspondence with NVC before your lawyer sends it out and request a duplicate to yourself as well.

I repeat... Study thoroughly Post #1 of this thread before anything gets sent to NVC.

Good to see you around even after getting done with NVC.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.

8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.

I was just wondering if I send me original documents to NVC for processing

- Will I ever get them back

- How will I present them to the Counsellor Officer at the Consulate During The Interview?

Guys , I am now running into Depression & anxiety

You have to collect all your originals at the interview and make sure you get them all.
