Congratulations. You are almost done with this LONG journey and very soon all this nightmare will soon be OVER.

I hope you're right. There is still administrative processing which I've been through more than once.. the longest was 13 months. From my experience, however, the psychological damage caused by NVC is far worse than AP.

If u r sure then U shouldn't wait for the checklist. Send with AOS checklist. In case u don't get checklisted for the birth certificate still it wouldn't affect ur case since u wouldn't be getting a case complete without ur AOS checklist reviewed anyways. So there is no harm in sending it right now.

Here's a question that is a bit ahead of myself I know but I'm thinking ahead... when I was a teenager my parents were divorced and I lived half-half with each parent at two houses. How do I list that on my DS-260? Just as simultaneous timeframes and make a written note on the form, or write it on the cover sheet?

I am the beneficiary. My husband is the petitioning USC.

Relationship:

Met in Washington DC - 13 February 2013

Just made my last phone call ever to NVC. A month after CC, we finally got our interview date.

Your well wishes and prayers made it happen, I'm sure. Thank you all, especially you two soloenta and msc13. I'm almost in tears thinking of you both.

Hi MoBar65

That is brilliant that you have your interview. When is it? I am so glad this journey is almost over for you and your family and you can get back to some normalcy. You have been such a support to me and for that I am truly thankful. If I knew how to message separately we could exchange email addresses. If you know how to do it then please feel free to do so.

Then it is no expedite at all!!! If you were told this over the phone, then it's probably a figment of the phone rep's imagination. NVC should have sent everything they have as is to the embassy ASAP. If the decision was made over a week ago, chances are your case is already on its way to the embassy, or is there already. Check the CEAC status.

If not, I would insist on speaking with a supervisor over this. I would also contact the embassy and complain that NVC is disregarding their expedite decision.

VJ members could be of more help to you if you detail your timeline in the signature, including date and manner of this vague expedite approval.

NVC's email has explicitly stated that "The US Embassy or Consulate is willing to expedite this case once we have all the fees, forms, and documents. We received documents for your case. Please allow 60 days for us to review your documents." This is a direct quote from the email I received on August 15.

The rep refuses to let my husband talk to the supervisor. Do you think contacting the embassy will do any good here? Thanks again. I added my timeline in the signature.

My timeline for NVC processing:

May 4, 2014 Submitted DS261

May 7, 2014 Paid AOS fee

May 12, 2014 Received an email confirming that my DS261 (agent registration) form has been processed

May 15, 2014 Paid IV fee

Last scan date: July 22, 2014 NVC received my IV and AOS packages (mailed together), date confirmed in the email on Aug 5, which also told me that it will take at least 60 days to process

July 25, 2014: Submitted DS260

August 6, 2014 Requested an expedite

August 8, 2014 Got an email from NVCExpedite asking for two phone numbers

August 8, 2014 Responded with two phone numbers

August 15, 2014 Received an email from NVCExpedite which states: "The US Embassy or Consulate is willing to expedite this case once we have all the fees, forms, and documents. We received documents for your case. Please allow 60 days for us to review your documents."

August 15, 2014 Called NVC, the rep told my husband that while the Embassy has agreed to expedite my case, NVC will still take at least 60 days. The reason that NVC cannot do it any faster is because they cannot sort through all the mail to locate my case.

September 16, 2014 Got a checklist for a divorce decree, the original of which I submitted. They said it needs to have a stamp, even though it was issued by a US judge, whose office confirmed that their original decrees do not have stamps. [/background]

September 29, 2014 Mailed a copy of the decree with a certification and stamp attached to it. The judge's office in Lancaster county, Nebraska, said that this is how they certify their documents. They still do not put stamps on originals or copies themselves.

October 2, 2014 Checklist scan date

October 17, 2014 AOS fee changed from "paid" to N/A

October 20, 2014 Case complete confirmed by calling NVC.

How do I list that on my DS-260? Just as simultaneous timeframes and make a written note on the form, or write it on the cover sheet?

I don't think there is a field to comment on addresses. The form might also reject overlapping dates, but could be wrong. I know that it does flag missing gaps over the years.

Here is what I think you should do: List in the form one of the addresses... the one that matches closest to the addresses on your ID or school records then, and in the IV documents cover letter, explain the situation and list the other address.

Thank you! I'm not 100% sure, but the certificate I originally got has my mother's new married name, and not her previous name or her maiden name at all. It also only stated my married name, and not my maiden name nor my marital status. Since I had to write both her and my maiden names on the DS-260 I figured it would be important that my birth certificate (equivalent) stated all of that information as it is not available on any of the other documents I submitted. It's probably better safe than sorry, because sending it in now, even if it wasn't necessary, shouldn't delay the case that much more, and certainly not as much as it would if I got a checklist for it.
