As long as you interview, receive the visa, and do POE before the medical expiration, you should be fine. The status of the medical doesn't matter after you do POE.

Thanks for that confirmation Saylin.

I think we'll try and get an earlier interview just in case the consulates are still experiencing visa issuing problems.

Cheers.

I need advice and help.

I was checking my IV package and realized that my wife's original birth certificate is laminated. I tried to take it off but it is too tight to remove without damaging the original.

Does NVC have any issues if the original is laminated. Anyone has any insight into this.

BTW: I am still waiting for IV to be invoiced. I submitted DS-261 on June 8th.

Don't touch the DS-261. This is a false checklist that you were sent because they have reviewed and accepted your AOS package. They sent you a checklist for the next thing in the IV track that they haven't reviewed yet, which in your case is the DS-261. Cheers on getting through the AOS review with no checklist!

Hi Guys, I have a facebook group, I think some guys are in that group, so the majority of people there got the 60 days wait email and we are so mad and worried about it... we really want to do something because it is horrible that NVC has a terrible work day by day, a friend in the gruop had the idea to write a letter and talk with news channels, in conclusion do something with this problem because we really need to be with our family...please if you want to support this idea or you have more ideas let me know, we need more and more people so NVC could listen to us... Thanks

If someone can come up with a petioion and submit them to all the senators and also the individual senator in their own constituancy, I think would be better. Clearly we have been sidelined just beca use we found our partner from another country.

Let me say somehting that I have seen in my work place. A foriegn person can bring his family (both spouse and kids) if he or she is coming on an emplyment visa, and the person and his family can get their green card within 4 months. They too go through the same USUCS and such. Here the person who is my collegue came to US as an IT manager. Please see here corporate lobby and special interests work for them not for us.

4/17/14 - USCIS shipped case to NVC

I see it mentioned a lot that you should not re-open the DS-261, but does that include just clicking on the "Completed" URL on the "Summary Information" page (The page that shows the DS-261, DS-260, AOS, and IV)? Not re-submitting the DS-261 or clicking anything else.

The problem is in all my frantic clicking I accidentally clicked it while seeing if my AOS bill was ready. After I clicked it, I just closed the window so that I would not mess anything up.

Currently my DS-261 still shows as Completed

You can be on the CEAC site where it shows all the data (AOS IV), but if you opened your DS-261, then you likely reset the clock, even if you didn't edit your DS-261.

Even when people accidently re-opened it, it still said completed, they only found out through speaking with a phone agent that it was reset.
