wow that IV increase is pretty much $100 :|

Does this increase in fee come with a decrease in their stupid handling time. They should at least grandfather any cases prior to Sept 12 to the old fee. This is just annoying.

"If you paid your visa fee before September 12, 2014, and your visa interview is on or after December 12, 2014, you will be required to pay the difference between the old and new fee amounts – no exceptions."

EDIT: Wonder if this applies to both immigrant and non immigrant visas

Checklist guys. As expected. But shockingly it wasn't for the w2 that I was thinking. They accepted all the sponsor's documents. She said the petetioner didn't check yes or no in a military question. And that we didn't add up the household size correctly. I don't know how is that possible. We marked one for himself, one for adding all others and n/a in married. Now let's wait for the email. I m still surprised though that they accepted the tax returns without w2 from what the operator told me.

Nobody wants to hear that they have a checklist, but I'm happy to hear that you at least found something out about your case!

Last night I realized I didn't print out the DS-260 confirmation page so I hunted for it and only saw the DS-261 I called NVC and the lady weird name said to go to payment page (which I had) and it would be there. I told her the only one I see was DS-261 but she insisted. I went back and nothing so I decided to click on the IV and went from one page to the next until I got to the end and sure enough you can print it out or send via e-mail. So I sent one to my husband and one to myself and it arrived promptly which doesn't usually happen. Just now I open my e-mail and there is another one but looks totally different than the one they sent me last night. Looks like the one below what do you think? Just a duplicate? The face of the one I requested they send me only had a few words in the body this one had all the below.

I was freaking out a bit too, thinking what a bloody nerve, we've been waiting through no fault of our own! But it seems it just affects non-immigrants who aren't feeling NVC's backlog.

It's my husband's brother's wedding Tomm. We were both already depressed that I m not there in it. And now Nvc destroyed his whole happiness of the wedding. What timings.

But I think the Dec. 11 or before thing only affects non-immigrants. I think for us, the fee we pay is the fee we pay, depending on the date the fee is processed. So from now on, if the fee is generated on Sept. 11 it will be the $230. On Sept 12, it will be $325. But it looks like you only have to pay the difference if it's a non-immigrant visa... I think!

I know. It's so difficult to miss those things. On a positive note, at least they are making "progress" on your case!

I also opened it about two weeks after I submitted it... My husband just called today and they confirmed that the date submitted was the original one! what a relief!!! She also said that we should receive an email for the IV fee next week as our DS261 was submitted July 30. I was so afraid that it was 60 days! It's for that I wanted to send the package earlier.

Anyway, she also said that we can send the package now, use the cover sheet of the AOS and simply put Attn. DR

I hope those infos can be useful for others... And I wish fast cc to everybody!

I guess the glitch has been fixed. Because many vj members had there ds 261 reset ted when they opened it in the past.

IV opens up after 30 business days of completing DS 261. So next week is your 30 business days . As for sending in the package earlier , its worth a try if you are willing to do so and take the risk

BUT...

This is what i have seen with my cover letters.

AOS = Attn: CMR AOS

IV = Attn: CMR

and just yesterday i received a false checklist and the cover sheet is Attn: DR.

Personally i would hesitate sending it earlier because of the different department's , CMR AOS, CMR and DR . I would not want ORIGINAL document being lost when sent to the wrong department, then having the department transfer the docs to the correct department God knows how.

I personally would rather wait two weeks to do it right , then having a delay do to sending the docs to the WRONG department. just my humble opinion :-)

Well then I've been screwed yet again this amounts to highway robbery plain and simple! We just can't win they have no mercy what so ever. The nerve to up fees with the crappy service they give!

Yea seems like the sept 12 hike will affect both visa types.

I doubt I will get my IV fees before Sept 12 so I guess will pay $95 more AND wait even longer for the packages to be reviewed!!! oh the irony.

Why on earth cant you frickin take the corrected AOS to the interview? This hole process is ..... stay strong and positive
