Hi everybody and congrats to all the CC!!

I am preparing package IV and this is probably a stupid question but how long a birth certificate is valid? I have one from may 2013, that would be ok?

Also I am seriously considering to send the package before paying the fee. NVC received my case July 1st, case number July 14th, and AOS fee on August 20 :(

I don't know why It took so long for the AOS fee but I am so tired of this all entire process. I know a lot of people has been waiting longer than I at USCIS (me "only" 6 months) but this is so frustrating... Anyway, what cover sheet should I put on my IV package if I decide to send it before paying the fee?

Thank you so much to everybody!

Caroline

I think (as was said above) that the birth certificate doesn't expire like the police certificates do. At least I've never heard of that!

I am also planning to send our IV package today. Tomorrow will be 30 business days since the DS-261and the rep I talked to last night said it should be fine and just to send it with the AOS bar code sheet. The only difference if you decide to send it is the address is ATTN: DR.

I'm hoping this works out as well as it has for a few others and maybe just the act of sending it will magically release the IV fee!!!

Wish me luck!

Thank you for your reply and thanks for the replies of the other members!

I will call NVC today and see what the rep will say (it is very stupid but i will feel better sending IV package in advance with the "blessing" of someone from there ;)).

I wish you good luck for your case and hope that everybody will be in the US soon!!!

Hi everyone, well we just got off the phone with NVC, and they said that our CASE IS COMPLETE!! :wow::dancing:

Apparently, case complete was on 8/25, although we haven't gotten any notification yet. We had given up on calling all the time, so I was shocked that it was actually complete! Maybe last week when I called NVC and yelled and complained to a supervisor about our case, NVC actually did something? Our DS-260 was sent in on June 3, but because they somehow missed receiving it (how do you miss an electronic submission to your website?!). So then it got sent for Supervisor Review on July 22...so I guess that's our official last scan date...it was approved without us having to provide any other info.

Good luck to everybody else going through this craziness...hang in there, mid-2013 USCIS folks...there is light at the end of the tunnel!

I've asked a few reps about this (because I've been thinking about doing this for awhile and I also feel better, inexplicably, having the OK from some ding dong rep at NVC) and they have all told me to send to ATTN: DR.

Nope. I had checked it before calling, so I was not expecting anything, except hearing the usual 30 or 60 business day thing, and then asking for a supervisor again, etc...

Their processing is so screwed up, you never know if they change the status on line first, or email you, or they don't do anything, but you call in and then they surprise you!

Thanks for posting this! How long did it take u guys to get it? We're currently waiting for my husband's Certificate of Good Conduct.

Also, our status currently says "certificate is ready for collection" but when my husband went to Malaysia Embassy, they told him it wasnf ready. What does the status show online when it is complete?

Thanks for any input.

She applied on the Aug 18th and got it yesterday, so about a week and half. When we checked online it said "certificate is ready for collection" and when we called them, they asked her to email copy of her passport and copy of the online application. Couple of days later we got email saying bring fees and come for the certificate.

I think they're working on July 10-11, roughly.

Thanks! They have been working on July 10th since last week. Sighs..

I'm not sure "working" is the most accurate way to describe what they are currently doing, but those are the dates. :)

How hard is it to look at a document and check off it is correct or not? IMHO the NVC is useless. The consulate should do a quick review of the documents at the time of interview.

I am july 10th and they told me to wait AT LEAST 60 days. I dont know what they're doing but it feels like they're on vacation.

That's super harsh. I hope it doesn't take that long. They put that 60 days number out there to cover their butts.
