NVC Filers - August 2014

Hi there, I would need some help.

I submitted DS-261 on August, 8th. Yesterday, I clicked on the completed link and reopen it. But I didnt do anything, either change any field or re-submit it again. I closed it again immediately. Later, I noticed at Saylin´s wiki information this action might automatically change the NVC date for the 30 businness days counting.

Does it happen in this occasion when no action is taken? My confirmation date is still August 8th, according to the registration data I saved online and printed out.

I did that and it set me back about 19 days...there may be a chance that NVC could set to the original date but not likely...they need a caution button on it warning if you click on the DS 261 it automatically restarts your time...no luck for you on that one I think...sorry to hear...

I think i ###### it up then. it doesnt make sense to me, however, Why do we have a confirmation date for ds-261 with two coded bars then? ill call NVC to know if i am lucky and the system dont set me back...

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since I've posted but I just wanted to check back in with everyone and say hi. I hope everyone is pulling strong through the journey still. My wife arrived August 8 and we've been enjoying our time together ever since. We feel so fortunate to finally be done with this process and I want everyone to know it will all be worth it in the end. Something to note, if the case was not expedited and all documents reviewed at time of interview, we would have been set back significantly because last week we received a checklist for the AOS, which we had RESENT on June 26. Almost two months for a response, I guess they opened it and checked it even thought the case was done and she's here. But look how long it had taken! The checklist was for one box that stated the number of people being sponsored which God knows who had forgotten to fill in at the lawyers office!

How are things going now, what is the waiting time looking like? I know they had sent out those 60 day letters at the end of July.

Glad you are done with the process. Things are just getting slower at NVC. The operator always saying AT LEAST 60 days for every step. I just submitted the civil documents last week, who knows when they going to review it.

Don't listen to anything people at NVC tell you or anybody else. They received my case on Aug 6. When I called to get a case number, they told me to wait 30 days to get it. I respond back I DON'T THINK SO and hung up. I called back on 8/18 exactly 13 days since they received my case, I received my case # and identification #. And the Same day, I paid the AOS fee and did the DS261. On 8/21 my case was out of there and transferred to the Embassy. And 8/22 the DS260 was unlocked. May your journey be as quick as possible. If God is for you who can be against you

I am just so happy and fortunate that i found found this community . Reading other peoples mistakes from there checklists , helped out BIG TIME .

"let me see , you got yours in 46 days . Oh my , we are making progress !! "

that blew me away.

It will not be a problem , just clarify that when you have your interview,

My wife goofed up on her last employment. Wrong address wrong phone number . NVC tolled me it is not a big deal and they cant re-open the ds 260 .It will be corrected at the interview.

They will not update the form at NVC . It will be updated at the interview. . The Visa Unit at the Embassy will review the DS 260 .

Awwww thank you so much your so kind and OMG so funny about the lady I hope I get her next time I call. I rarely call but if I do I'll be crossing my fingers it's her.

No I didn't..ill make sure I take it along to the interview. .

But why does the checklist say that the total income does not match the total income on the tax returns..even when it matches?!

You really should call and ask them to check you just might have gotten lucky and if you have, DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN. Good luck.

Hello all.

Has anyone received interview dates for Oct yet?? Dont they start scheduling it by last week of August?

Anyone from the Mumbai embassy were able to change the interview dates to an earlier one? Is it even possible? How do we go about it? I read many posts that their request for an earlier interview date was accepted.

FYI my expedite was approved on 8/20. My point is not to believe everything people tell you. Have a blessed day!

13 days is close to 2 weeks..m planning on calling NVC this coming up wed then I ll call again the following Wednesday.. I collected most of the documents.. Hope everything goes quickly! Can't wait to see my hubby!!

Count me in too..Filed i 130 way back in April 4th 2013. UCIS kept us wait until Nov 2013, followed by NVC from Jan 2014 until now!!!

I hate this wait..

Called NVC and I have a case complete now. Apparently as of Aug 22nd. I'm still waiting to get the official email and hear back when my interview will be. Fingers crossed for a September interview.
