While we who chose legal immigration to unite with our loved one's and fret about why the US immigration system is so broken, our government seems to be more keen on screwing us further!!!

http://news.yahoo.com/immigration-could-set-stage-big-u-budget-showdown-194048294--business.html

The government's DACA act screwed countless March - June 2013 filers like me at USCIS last year, and the nightmare seems to be returning to haunt us again.... Our government seems to be spreading the right message to millions across the border and the world over waiting to sneak in illegally and why wouldn't they be obliged. Long live US policy makers, keep coming up with such innovative and constructive immigration policies every year!!!

I am unable to put my hatred towards this fact into words. It makes my blood boil when I see the unfairness in the situation. They made us wait soo soo fu****** long as Uscis!! Now Nvc is backlogged!! Our marriages are dangling by thread and just because we wanted to follow rules!!! When I think about it it makes me so angry. It's been one and a half year since I saw my husband and everyday when I wake up it kills me to think that it's gonna be so much longer still. Why why!!! Why would the govt do this to us.

Then you must've missed the spreadsheet at the end of Post #1. If you scroll down that sheet you'll find out (among other useful insights) that recently NVC has been assigning case numbers within roughly two weeks.

By the way, I recommend you get yourself one of those wireless headphone phone receivers. You'll be doing a lot of NVC calling at 30-50 minutes of waiting per call over the next 4-6 months.

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since I've posted but I just wanted to check back in with everyone and say hi. I hope everyone is pulling strong through the journey still. My wife arrived August 8 and we've been enjoying our time together ever since. We feel so fortunate to finally be done with this process and I want everyone to know it will all be worth it in the end. Something to note, if the case was not expedited and all documents reviewed at time of interview, we would have been set back significantly because last week we received a checklist for the AOS, which we had RESENT on June 26. Almost two months for a response, I guess they opened it and checked it even thought the case was done and she's here. But look how long it had taken! The checklist was for one box that stated the number of people being sponsored which God knows who had forgotten to fill in at the lawyers office!

How are things going now, what is the waiting time looking like? I know they had sent out those 60 day letters at the end of July.

Thank you so much Soloenta i pray you get a CC soon . It will make me so Happy . Yes the lady was so nice , seriously she would not keep her mouth shut. The funny thing was when we were talking about the 60 day mail and she said

"let me see , you got yours in 46 days . Oh my , we are making progress !! "

that blew me away.

Haha, that's awesome!!

Woohoo!

too bad i didn't record the conversation , just so you can hear her reaction !! It was so funny.

Hey all,

I just filled out ds-260 form online. I have a question.

By mistake i put answer YES in question Is your spouse immigrating to the U.S. with you?

This is my first marriage. So i put No in previous spouse question.

Does it make any issue or problem in processing ?

Please help. I am really scared.

It will not be a problem , just clarify that when you have your interview,

My wife goofed up on her last employment. Wrong address wrong phone number . NVC tolled me it is not a big deal and they cant re-open the ds 260 .It will be corrected at the interview.

Thank you.

But it would take time to update the form? Plus DS 260 is involved in NVC Process or it is just needed for interview ?

Please Help.

They will not update the form at NVC . It will be updated at the interview. . The Visa Unit at the Embassy will review the DS 260 .

Hi there, I would need some help.

I submitted DS-261 on August, 8th. Yesterday, I clicked on the completed link and reopen it. But I didnt do anything, either change any field or re-submit it again. I closed it again immediately. Later, I noticed at Saylin´s wiki information this action might automatically change the NVC date for the 30 businness days counting.

Does it happen in this occasion when no action is taken? My confirmation date is still August 8th, according to the registration data I saved online and printed out.

No u don't have to send 1-864a if u don't want to. Ur sponsor can send w2 to show his individual income. Did u send w2 with the package?

No I didn't..ill make sure I take it along to the interview. .

But why does the checklist say that the total income does not match the total income on the tax returns..even when it matches?!

Thankyou for the reply btw :)

As to that I m not sure. By my speculation is that since ur sponsor is filing jointly with wife and u didn't send w2 so that's means u fail to showed individual income of ur sponsor so maybe they are referring to that. But someone can help u with the question maybe.

It doesn't matter when a case is "sent" to NVC. It could take weeks before it "gets" there. Count the two weeks from the acknowledged NVC receive date, two weeks from Aug 27th.
