Here's a small bit of good news, everyone-- I got a false checklist today relating to the IV documents. I mailed them in July 1st, they were delivered July 3rd, and NVC initially told me that it was received on July 9th, but when the sent out the 60-days e-mail it said July 7th. So I am assuming the packet was probably reviewed yesterday or the day before, which puts it about 49-50 days, about 35-36 business days. I called after business hours on Friday and it hadn't been reviewed yet.

The false checklist was for the response to the AOS checklist, which they received on August 1st, but obviously haven't reviewed yet. The interesting thing, though, is that the letter says "After you mail or transmit the requested information, allow 30 business days for us to review your response." Does that mean that they ARE working faster on checklists? Or just haven't updated the wording in their letters?

I was really hoping for an October interview, so that we could travel in November... it's hard to travel in December from Latin America... but I suppose it will just be whatever it is.

Can they tell when you last call? Cuz that would be so awkward lol

It will take them 2-3 days to send an email and ope the IV fee page for us, but it's good to see something moving. Our DS-261 was received on July 9th. I hope many of you get CCs soon.

His name and visa type were entered into the system incorrectly. Instead of (first) (middle middle) it was (first first first) with no middle name. He was also in the computer as a K1 visa instead of CR1. Between those two things it was impossible to get a Social Security number and green card. We bounced back and forth between CBP, USCIS and the Social Security office for over a month before the name issue was resolved <_< Now we're watching and waiting for the green card... betting that'll take a heap of work on our part too. Ah well!

I just wanted to update you on our case. I called NVC today regarding our DS-261, and they said that it had been approved yesterday. Sigh. USPS is a bit hopeless, isn't it? My husband's parents sent us their AOS joint sponsor material last week and we asked them to make sure it was trackable express. Since August 23 there has been no movement on the tracking. Calling USPS from Australia is next to impossible because of awful wait times and their voice recognition not understanding my accent. I hope it arrives tomorrow I think the postal guy has already been today :( I just want to send my AOS package. That is one thing, IMO only, that I think Australia does better than America. Postage. Particularly internationally.

In brighter news, I got my police certificate and, as expected, it says no court outcomes :innocent:

guys i had to collect 4 police report from 4 countries . but the problem is with my dubai police report . it has only 3month validity .which means its already expired . i got it last year .after that i did not visit dubai........ will i get check list for this?

According to the Visa Reciprocity (http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/AE.html), UAE PCCs are not obtainable to non-residents: "Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE."

Since the one you have is too old, I'm not sure it's a good idea to send it and have it trigger a checklist that you couldn't fulfill. Better call NVC and ask for multiple confirmations on what to do.

omg i am completing my IV package and I noticed my police clearances will be expired soon. :cry: January 2015 and the other one is Feb. 2015.

What will happen if I use this for now then by interview I have a new one,I am thinking to send them tomorrow by email (EP) but I need to get new one before my interview. Am i right?

What will happen if I use this for now then by interview I have a new one,I am thinking to send them tomorrow by email (EP) but I need to get new one before my interview. Am i right?

You'll be fine at NVC. And if your interview is before January, which I'm thinking it will be, no new certificates needed at the interview either.

While we who chose legal immigration to unite with our loved one's and fret about why the US immigration system is so broken, our government seems to be more keen on screwing us further!!!

Our government seems to be spreading the right message to millions across the border and the world over waiting to sneak in illegally and why wouldn't they be obliged.
