Has anyone sent their IV documents to NVC using AOS coversheet before IV fee was invoiced? Looking at their current timings, I don't think it will be a bad idea to send IV documents in advance. I was wondering if someone who has done this and their IV documents were scanned at NVC without paying IV fee.

Does NVC also takes at least 60 days to review DS 260 (IV application)?

Thank you.

It's a risk, but if you're willing to take it, it might save you some time. They have ended up losing people's original documents. Might help to be conservative knowing they have a haphazard way of conducting business.

I just feel like crying right now!!! Rep told me to wait ATLEAST 60 DAYS for us to review AOS package. ATLEAST?????? and at the end I was told, " Have a good day":cry:.....I can't believe, this NVC is a nightmare for me. God forbirds If get a checklist on AOS, my interview will perhaps be in Feb or March. This is killing me......And yes to let you all know, I confirmed from 2 rep, they are still reviewing AOS package and IV package separately. So review does not start after the last scan date.

Hi I know this was asked several times before but I'm still confused..

I received an email from nvc stating that I meet the minimum requirements for the interview but I also got a checklist for my joint sponsors I 864..it states that my joint sponsor needs to send 2013 tax info and his total income must match the total income on 1040..

My joint sponsor files his taxes jointly with his spouse..but his income alone meets the minimum cut off..

So I did not use the I 864a..will that be a prob?

Also my joint sponsor sent 2013 tax returns and mentioned the correct income as mentioned on the tax return..but stillgot a cchecklist and this same checklist for the second time..

What could have gone wrong?

Yup some people have done it and they were fine it. And personally I think that that's what people should do from now on. Specially since the operator told romii that from now on the would be reviewing both packages from the last scan date. Ds260 does take 60 days according to what they tell but I saw someone getting a case complete earlier because they did this and their applications was reviewed with the scanned documents. That's my two cents

Thank you Samreen. The dilemma is I am sending my wife original BC, original marriage certificate, original nikkahnama and original English nikkahnama translation. Btw my wife just received the Police Clearance Certificate today so she will fedex that to me :) I just don't want NVC to lose the originals because then that will create a bigger mess for my case. Decisions, decisions, decisions I guess thats probably the only positive thing that you can get out of NVC they make you an excellent decision makers

I sent mine IV packages on the 8/6 and it was scanned in on 8/11. I received Iv bill on 8/25 and I sent DS 260 on 8/260 - I called about this this morning and I was told, once they review the four package, they review it with DS 260 - it does not take 60 days by itself. The 60 days would have been for the IV package so since I sent it ahead of time, the 60 days started then!

Thank you for your advice, after seeing that you submitted your IV docs successfully. It gives me a confidence to send mine earlier as well :)

It's a risk, but if you're willing to take it, it might save you some time. They have ended up losing people's original documents. Might help to be conservative knowing they have a haphazard way of conducting business.

I know that's the part I am really confused about what if they lose my originals then I am even in a bigger mess

The IV bill will be available to pay after NVC review your DS-261 which might be before or after 60days.

Those that submitted AOS & IV bill around same time has a lawyer attached to their case.

This is just my tiny bit. I don't think they will lose your package because you used the AOS cover sheet. If they are going to lose it they will due to negligence, which could happen with the IV cover sheet anyway. We all know about how efficient they are. So just follow your heart on this. Sending your original certs to them is a risk anyway you look at it.
