I hope everyone has their heads up today, I am really down right now, really really down. Even the therapy does not hold back my depression anymore. Last year I was so excited about finishing my Ph.D., and starting a life with my lovely wife and now, I have been in and out of jobs and this process is dragging on and on (over a year now). I know you all have stories too, so forgive me my moment, but I feel really beaten right now. I could do with a win from somewhere.

Don't despair my friend and yes we all feel this way and life does have a way of knocking us down at the worst times. I'm so sorry your going through this but the prize is at the end of all this suffering. It's a long road but your almost there so just hang in there we are here for you to hold you up when you can't anymore. So take a deep breath and know there is an end to this you just have to be strong for a little bit longer then all this will just be a distant memory that will fade away. I'll be praying for you and your wife that this all will end soon and you will be well on your way to the life you have dreamed of. Hey you found the hardest part, the woman you love so your really there the rest will come soon.

I know where you're coming from. I'm just about done here too. I have a full time job that I've been in for over three years, but my heart's just not in it anymore and each day feels like it drags on for twice as long. I'm not over a year of processing yet, but it has been over a year since we got married.

Are you able to go and visit your wife? I'm visiting my husband on Friday for two weeks because it's just taking so long and we haven't seen each other since the wedding. I wasn't initially going to, but it looks like I won't be interviewing until next year and I can't go that long without seeing him.

I'm feeling like I got slapped with a checklist since it's taking forever! But...I haven't had any checklists!

I'd probably feel a lot worse if I got a checklist and dealing with this delay!

Now we're talking about 60 more days with a checklist!

Urgent Question

I'm filling out my I-864, under Part 5 - Household Sponsor Size. It says do no count anyone twice, but it says number of persons your sponsoring which I put "1" for my wife, but then it says "Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit", I put a "1" for myself, below that it says if married put "1". If I do that, it makes my household size "3" and not "2" please help, what should I do?

Question 2:

Do I do the I-864 on the PDF document all in Caps?

Hello all

Yesterday i also received the famous 60 day email by NVC how exciting.

I also received from NVC the email to pay the AOS fee for my wife's case , BUT noticed the street number on the address was off by 70 numbers . first my DOB was wrong , now the address was wrong .

I had to make the call to see what the F#@! is going on with wife's scewed up case.

​Talked to lovely Liz who was very helpful. She corrected the right street # ( i thought they only give info ) . Then she also informed me that my inquiry that i did Wednesday concerning my wrong DOB was corrected on the system . I was surprised it took only two days for the inquiry to be opened.

We went to my daughters case and she tolled me to call next week when her 30 business days are up since 261 was submitted. Seriously i don't know what to believe. First email with the 60 day BS then the operator instructing me to call back when her 30 business day's are up. Just don't know who to believe.

Now i got a question to the experts here.

I am waiting for the AOS to be reviewed for daughters case . Should i wait to see if i get a checklist first before i send my wife's AOS so i dont make the same mistake ? Will that cause a delay on wife's case ? I am so frickin confused .

are they working at NVC Saturdays ??! i just received a checklist email for AOS , also morning the IV payment was cleared from my bank account but still at process on the website!

I wish I could believe that were a possibility. But at least with USCIS, I would get e-mails between midnight and 3 a.m., so I think a lot of things are automated. Probably the same at NVC.

I see that your DS-261 was accepted July 31 and you got to pay the IV fee right afterwards. Congratulations! Mine was reviewed on Friday, so I hope this means I'll have the IV invoiced on Monday!

Well guess what folks.....I checked my email today and I too got the "60 day" email . But it gives the date my AOS package was delivered to NVC (JUNE 30th) and not the actual scan date of JULY 3!? So I'm guessing that if your package was scanned after this date you might get an email soon too? We shall hope for the best ...*sigh

it was accepted 31 i knew that on the phone , Friday Aug 1st at 4 PM they sent an email for me , after 15 min the payment was posted on CEA website

Question 1. your spouse is already counted. Therefore, you put 1 for yourself. The total of all lines then should be 2.

Hi guys,

Apologies for repeating the same question as previously posted in the July thread, but hoping for some insight here so that I can get my AOS package in the mail today. I lived abroad all of last year and thus, my total income on the tax transcript is a negative number (also reported foreign income on my taxes). Is it ok to put this for part 6, 13.a.1? I really don't want a checklist!! My current income is good, as are the previous two years, but I don't want the negative number to throw up flags.

Don't know if you've been answered or not but I had a negative total income for 2012 as well. I was check listed because they were "confused" about the negative number. I sent in the same form again with a letter and post it explaining the negative number and it worked. For the part asking current income you write "$0" unless that income continues in the USA. Rumor has it that NVC works on Saturdays, Sundays, and National Holidays.

We all know by now that it's not the case since NVC now requires 60 calender days to review documents.

BTW, NVC will be closed on Sept 1 (Mon) because it's Labor Day.

Emails are automated and delayed so some people receive emails on Saturday.

Maybe NVC delays sending emails on purpose hoping that we think they're working on weekends!

Q1) u put 1 for urself, 1 for the blank where it asks to total people, and the part where they if u r married u either put zero, or n/a or even leave it blank. DONT put one in that because that will make household of 3

Q2) dunno if it matters but ours was in caps I think

Q3) fr joint sponsor u only need a seperate I-864 form not the entire seperate package. Read the wiki where it tells u what to include with joint sponsor.

Does it mean it's still 30 business days (45 days) for my IV package?

Maybe they decided to not send the emails to those who were stuck in Uscis backlog;) wishful thinking lol! I didn't get it yet though. Did u get it soloenta?
