I have a question about knowing if it's a false checklist or not. I have read and reread the Wiki and understand it but I am paranoid. Last night we got an email with two checklists. One of them is real and done but the other says "you need to complete your DS-261". We completed it back on June 4th and two NVC operators have told me they received it but NVC has not reviewed it yet. Just to double check I logged into the website and took a screen shot proving that it says "completed". I do not dare to open it again. So what should I do? Should I send in the checklist with the screen shot proving it's completed or just ignore it? Thanks for the advice! :energy:

I contacted a supervisor at NVC and she instructed me to write a letter of explanation to accompany my "real" checklist response. She also told me this may not help me and that we may be back in line. Lord help us!

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I actually thank visa journey for being here seriously. All the wonderful people who work so hard helping is such a blessing. Being a way from my husband for over a year and now raising our 5 month old son alone is challenging. So having this forum is therapy I need to have on a regular basis. Our marriage was sanctioned by God so despite being apart and having some rough days me and my husband is still so close. I couldn't have married a better man than my husband. This process has made me change my political affiliation and i have learned who are our real friends are in Washington. I hate to say this but I despise Obama with a deep passion. I despise the Democratic party and I am now a registered Republican. These irresponsible policies have created the mess we are going through now and there is no politician talking about helping get rid of the backlog in the immigration system. When i received the email yesterday from NVC saying it would be a 60 day wait from the time they received our package I thought I was going to drop freaking dead. But I just prayed and kept it moving. There needs to be a story told about what we are going through. All the money we pay to these people and we get treated like garbage. This must end.

FYI people...if you haven't read the earlier posts regarding "the letter". NVC stated yesterday that it was 60 total days, not 60 business days. We are not going from 6 weeks to 12 weeks. That adds about 2 to 3 weeks onto the original "30 business days" end date.

For example; I called this past Monday and they told me my original "30 business days" was 26 August. Yesterday, after receiving "the letter" they told me that my case should be reviewed by 14 September. I believe it will fall in between these two dates. This is just what was conveyed to me by an operator when I called yesterday. Of course we will wait and see.

You have a number of options at this point:

Hi Saylin,

My husband had his medical done well ahead of his upcoming interview date.

And according to our consulate SYD, the medical is good for 6 months.

Our interview is Sept 2 and the expiry date for the medical is Sept 13th. And I know that this means we must enter the US prior to Sept 13th. But is there any other issue with having an expired medical shortly after our POE?

Thanks.

As long as you interview, receive the visa, and do POE before the medical expiration, you should be fine. The status of the medical doesn't matter after you do POE.

Home is when your heart is... :)

Your hubby is very lucky to have such an awesome wife  I wish you guys, with all my heart, all the best!

emoticon-insomnia.gif <- Me last night. My mind was so busy spinning it wouldn't let me sleep :P Again.

Thank you so much, and to you too! I'm heartsick to see how bad things have become at NVC, on top of what happened at USCIS it's just way too much. I hope you catch up on some sleep this weekend and that you have luck with NVC come Monday :luv:

I got a false checklist for the DS-261 too. If you sent your AOS in a while ago, it means it's been reviewed. That's what the checklist meant for us.

Well that makes me happy. I have been waiting almost as long as you have. I called NVC yesterday and was told me DS-261 had not yet been reviewed but I did request a supervisor review. She didn't really give me a straight answer about that but then later that night I got the emails with the checklists. I really hope the reviewed it and I can finally pay my fee! Ball rolling? Hopefully!

Have you received the IV invoice yet?

Thank you. :)

If anyone else has a "received date" on their NVC email about waiting 60 days that is completely incorrect, please let me know.

Mine is the day it was delivered by FedEx, not the scan date. So I would consider mine correct. How ridiculous that they are getting some people's dates wrong. Or, let's face it, a bunch of packages probably sit in a pile in the corner and are forgotten about until they are noticed again by the mailroom workers. Hence the incorrect received date. Ugh.

Mine is not different, they just chose to go by the actual "received" date (when the FedEX guy delivered it) rather than the "scan" date (which is a week later).

Same here.

Just spoke with a supervisor (Octavio) and he clarified that it is 60 day NOT 60 business days. He also said that this is for them to REACH you mail. This does not mean that this is the day it is REVIEWED by.

Hope that helps.

So that's good news and bad news. Good news because it's a shorter wait, bad news because they're not even pretending they'll review it within that time frame. Of course we really can't believe what we hear on the phone anymore.
