NVC Filers - August 2014

Hi vj members,

I need your help. My spouse talked to NVC rep, he told us about checklist regarding our civil documents. According to him we should provide them our marriage certificate in our native language.We have already sent them two marriage certificates one from our main federal authority and the other registered in local office which is mainly required by embassy in Islamabad. In major cities the English certificate is also available along with native. We submitted the English original one containing all signatures of me, my spouse, witnesses, marriage registrar and his stamp as well. We also have same in our native language as well. The country specific documents requirements list both of these types.

Now we needed the advice how to proceed?

Do we ask for supervisor review?

Do we wait for the email and then send the native language certificate along with its translation, although the certificate we have submitted them is its exact English version?

Do we send the certificate right away without waiting for the checklist cover page?

We can not wait 50 business days as mentioned by NVC rep.

Hope there is no need to mention we wish to follow the way which will take minimum time

Well, everyone, (reporting from Westminster, MA tonight on our road trip - going to spend the day in Boston tomorrow... man, when the time comes I'm going to ACE the civics exam for citizenship!) we got our CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!

I can't believe it! We hadn't heard a word since July 20 or 21 - no false checklists, no real checklists, nothing!

We did EP, so if indeed they've speeded up with that because more people are back to doing snailmail, that could be why we got so lucky...

But here's my theory. I think that somehow our I-129f got through (we filed it months after our I130, when USCIS was completely mired) and they felt like they had to hurry up... the operator I spoke to seemed a bit confused and unable to see the actual dates when things were accepted and/or approved, but she said that our file was just waiting for an interview to be scheduled at the embassy in Canada.

Since I'm on the road and have a certain amount of difficulty checking things online right now, do any of our Canadian friends know: if we get an interview scheduled, is there any protocol to contact them and see if there's any chance that we could reschedule to when we're actually in Montreal anyway? Because that would be sweet!

Either way, I'm so SO happy! What a great surprise!

Sorry to hear that the backup for everyone after us has gotten even worse... I just hope they're trying to "under-promise and over-deliver" and you'll all get case complete soon!

Not sure if you should worry but it's best to call Monday at 7 am their time if you can. Good luck.

U r the best soloenta!! but I m just scared that instead if making us stronger what if it breaks us! We are fighting a lot these days because we both are so frustrated i kept telling my husband that once we get our of if is Nvc will be a matter of couple months max and now look at Nvc. Every stage is getting slower and slower. I wish Nvc would prioritize the petetions from the first half of 2013 over latter half and 2014 petetions. This is just so so unfair really. Yes you have to have everything translated, found the link http://guayaquil.usconsulate.gov/service/resources.html%C2'>here click on English-Spanish Translators & Interpreters (PDF, 83.4KB) you will find a list of translators use them no others to make sure they do the job correctly. I'm sure they are all in Guayaquil not sure if you live there or not.

I'm wondering if they are just moving through the consulates alphabetically and that's why some haven't received it yet...

I haven't got one, but my consulate is SYD so later in the alphabet.

Thoughts on my theory?

My theory is they have a giant dart board and they get three throws each.

I agree it should be done that way and yes it can break you if you let it. It's not easy but it's worth it. Samreen check your inbox ok
